The games on other sites have been "fixed" for people too stupid to inject licenses. They're not fixed but rather broken.
Those I tried worked, at least.

Of course, but updates require a fix as well. All they are is resigning as free. That does require the license to make. You can either download gigabytes of data in some cases, have to download a fix for every update, many of which are not done correctly, or 16 bytes and be done with it. Tell me, which is the smarter thing to do?
Well duplex and ebootleggerjoe are the biggest dumb asses. Don't trust them. The latter. Anyway, I updates the games afterward and didn't have problems although I had some black screens but those games didn't even come with .pkgs.

You can pkg anything as long as there's a param.sfo.The thing is, I can only know if it has annoying intros if I don't have a black screen.
Also, I thought updates were in the .pup file extension, not in the .pkg one too. In that case, why does one download .pup files from Sony's official site and the PS3 recognizes it?

Not sure.
Getting an error with app home is normal. You can remove it in category_game.xml in dev_blind/vsh/recources/explore/xmb iirc. Just commit out game debug segment.
It's possible the ps3 ports could be damaged, yes. The usb warning is one of the exclamation point notifications.
I don't know exactly, but it's called game debug internally.Could you tell me what exactly /app_home/PS3_GAME/ is for? Is it to find out why the games (and maybe other things) are not working?

Pkg and rif key. I think it's the vsh.self that creates the rif file with act.dat and idps.
Virtual shell is what it stands for. It's part of the flash.

It's not a menu. It's a file.Isn't that PSP menu that shows up on the XMB after clicking the "SELECT" button? If so, I thought it was exclusive to the PSP and PS Vita's Adrenaline. Anyway, how can that menu create the .rif file?
