Of course, but updates require a fix as well. All they are is resigning as free. That does require the license to make. You can either download gigabytes of data in some cases, have to download a fix for every update, many of which are not done correctly, or 16 bytes and be done with it. Tell me, which is the smarter thing to do?

The latter. Anyway, I updated the games and didn't have problems although I had some black screens but those games didn't even come with PKGs.

Well duplex and ebootleggerjoe are the biggest dumb asses. Don't trust them.

The thing is, I can only know if it has annoying intros if I don't have a black screen.

Also, I thought updates were in the PUP format, not in the PKG one too. If so, why do PUP files need to be downloaded from the official site and the PS3 recognizes them?

You can pkg anything as long as there's a param.sfo.

Not sure.

I thought USB-powered hubs would mess up the PS3's USB ports, not the devices connected to it like you said. I also find it odd that the PS3 would alert of a problem regarding this.

Also, you said to not use "* PlayStation3" since it's for debugging games (whatever that is) but I can't even use it because when I click it I have an error message.

Getting an error with app home is normal. You can remove it in category_game.xml in dev_blind/vsh/recources/explore/xmb iirc. Just commit out game debug segment.

It's possible the ps3 ports could be damaged, yes. The usb warning is one of the exclamation point notifications.

Could you tell me what's "* PlayStation3"? Is it to find out why games (and maybe other things) aren't working?

I don't know exactly, but it's called game debug internally.

So, are PKG and RIF files downloaded from the PSN or just the PKG files and the RIF key? The "RAP key" isn't actually called "RAP key" unlike the "RIF key" which has that name? Do reActPSN/PSN Patch/Cobra use the RIF key in the RAP files with the user's act.dat and IDPS to create RIF files?
