^ exactly this. I also have AdblockPlus installed just for quick and easy disabling of ads, images, and similar page elements on a per site basis. For general use, Firefox, along with the extensions: Ghostery, Https everywhere, and Ublock Origin. Noscript too if you don't mind most of the internet breaking while it is enabled.
I thought everyone had switched over to uBlock Origin because of ABP was engaged in shady business practices?I also have AdblockPlus installed
Yes, I use uBlockOrigin as my primary blocker, but have ABP installed (with everything disabled) and just use it for simple element blocking (things like nsfw banners/images/etc on sites I often have open while at work), then I can just turn ABP off if I'm browsing in a "safe" environment and have all those elements reinstated.I thought everyone had switched over to uBlock Origin because of ABP was engaged in shady business practices?
Is https everywhere still needed? I used to use it, but Firefox has it's own HTTPS-only mode now.For general use, Firefox, along with the extensions: Ghostery, Https everywhere, and Ublock Origin. Noscript too if you don't mind most of the internet breaking while it is enabled.
Tor Browser is more secure, but bouncing your connection all over the world comes with a cost in speed and reliability. If you are doing something sketchy, better to use Tor and to use it for nothing else. Log into one of the major sites from that browser and most of the benefits of Tor are gone anyways.
But, if you just want Zuckerburg to butt out of your life, Firefox and those extensions does the trick.
I wouldn't trust Opera, as it is one of the main reasons the Wii was hacked lol. Like I said Tor is the most secure browser. However, because of Tor's slowness, I actually use a browser called Brave, a chromium browser that is fast, as well as private.Opera got bought by the Chinese in 2016, and there have been a number of concerns about the built in VPN doing its own tracking.
