I wait
i dont pay for a mod
This. I mean i could understand the paywall in a patreon, but donation for a mod fix idk sounds like taking the advantage of how popular the game is via emulation. Its his creation, but if ppl flaunt it around like some sort of advertisement here just b/c it fixes something then that is a new low. If he wants the mod private... then it was probably best to never mentioned it here.

I mean, there is always OpenGL. It's really up to yuzu's team to fix, not him and that's the reason he doesn't want to make it public. He isn't taking advantage of anything and has repeated multiple times that if his mods leak out of the WIP/Private stages, he will stop all work on making mods for that particular game even if the mods that are in WIP, aren't finished. He used to have a patreon, but I don't know nor care about the details on why he shifted towards paypal. People will always "flaunt" stuff to others that don't have it. There's nothing new about that. People have done this since childhood. I don't really do that, and if I do, I don't mean to. Ultimately, you have your own opinions and that is what makes you human, but if you want to play with vulkan on Yuzu with no yellow textures, then donating, playing on OpenGL, wait for Yuzu to fix their emulator, or hope for a leak are your only options. That or Ryujinx/Real HW is an option as well.

EDIT: Sorry sounded like a jerk there. Just been dealing with foul people all morning. I do mean what I said though but I didn't mean to word it like that

Bruh, imagine paying for Early Access mods. No wonder companies like EA and Ubisoft continue to do scummy things with their games, it's because people support it and justify paying for it.

Its not a big deal. The yellow piss doesn't hurt my gameplay and its only in a few scenes. The yuzu team are focused on this game given to how better it is now than launch day so eventually they could come up with a fix.

As you pointed out we are humans so there will be leakers here and there. I think thats the most issue with modders in general if 1 leak slips away then its curtains for everybody including supporters. Thats just how the internet is we can't control it. If anyone has donated to switch shops before they could tell you they had leaks happen many times where we had to donate again b/c the discord channel got wiped clean or the URL changed to prevent more damage. I'll pay my $1 for it, luckily for us its not a $10 dlc fix like other modders like to share in this inflation era.

I don't think people like to share the Discord link because of the Bloom Workaround. 2K + Disable Scaling are the mods that make the game looks beautiful, already released for free.

Paywall stuff are wip, 4k mod has bugs, 60fps wip1 had missing effects, etc. It's like an early access bonus.

Are people really upset about someone not releasing their own personal work for their own personal reasons? 99% of theboy181s mods get released for free, after a lot of work and testing. The donation is for early access to the work in progress mods, with the understanding that they can crash / mess up your game.

For the particular mod in question, the reason he is not releasing it publicly is because it fixes a problem inherent with yuzu vulkan, and it's his personal belief that it is better to not incentivize leaving yuzu broken due to his own mod. All of his other mods are specific to xenoblade 3 (in this instance), and are likely to never be made "a part" of yuzu itself, therefor he has no problem releasing them for free after testing. So, like Gnostalgia said, everyone has multiple methods to continue playing the game without the bloom fix - or just wait for yuzu to fix the problem.

Even if he was holding it back to make some extra money, that is also his right as the creator of the mod. It might suck or be frustrating for those who believe mods are meant to enrich the community and be free (which I 100% agree with), but people are entitled to do what they want with their own creations - and theboy has a good reason for not releasing it pubicly.

Edit: he even has a post on his discord saying he will release it publicly if the yuzu devs want it, and to even donate to yuzu to fix it

If someone made the ryujin 60fps mod compatible to yuzu then thats something worth jumping with joy for. B/c we wouldn't have to disable the cheat everytime in cutscenes its so much convenient that way. I honestly would be playing on ryujin if it weren't for yuzu's better Volkan performance

He can have a paywall, we just dont need it here advertised. Which would also help reduce the risk of leakers.

If theboy181 didn't make quality mods, I most likely wouldn't have donated. I donated not because I wanted EA, but because I wanted to support the mod project for XC3. His mods are some of the best for Switch games. Testing the mods are a bonus.

Yeah, like I said in my edit, I sounded like a jerk. Sorry about that but I agree with a lot of what you are saying. I originally paid just to support theboy181's project. His mods are top-notch so I knew what I was paying for. These paywall early access testers are the reason why his mods can be top-notch. They find bugs that he can't see and then he fixes them before he releases them to the public. Idk, I have a biased viewpoint since I am on one side of the fence (where the EA testers are) but I can see where everyone else is coming from so I want to stay neutral but because of my biased view, I really can't.

ANYWAY

The thread has been going off-topic so please, everyone from this point on, talk about emulator stuff instead of criticizing a modder and his work/system. Thanks

Of course I respect people who create cool things. And often support them. But what if support is not possible for technical reasons? I live in Russia, any transfers outside the country are blocked.

Gambia, The
Open GL work fine at chapter 4

The yellow bug is not a problem, it's free :D

Opengl unfortunately has a very serious memory leak so it's not really an option for most people.

Honestly most of this comes down to the fact that the yuzu dev's fix very little these days despite making a lot more money then most other emulators from crowdfunding. No one would even need this mod or care if the dev's actually fixed it themself but here we are.

Custom Build is in the original post that fixes this leak

In chapter 5 performance is dropping, sometimes badly... I'm using custom build and it was great until now, but now it's not so great. Is it has something to do with 12k loaded shaders ?....

No, I even cleared my shader cache and it still happens to me. Almost exclusively in cutscenes with a lot of characters. It'll drop to sub 15 fps and then the camera will focus on one character and it will return to normal speed. This wasn't happening before and I'm using Vulkan. It also seems to only be a thing in the in-game cutscenes (like with text boxes) instead of pre-rendered ones, so I wonder if it's tied to TheBoy's mods at all.

Doubtful. I am using all of Theboy's mods, on Chapter 5 atm, and have 15k shaders and I don't get this. I am using EA 2895 if that says anything.
