@chrondelta [.] means any character and not only a dot.

@fledge68 Sounds like a bug when reading values from the wiiflow_lite.ini. May be \ is interpreted as an escape character and has to escaped itself \\.
Could you please investigate.
according to regex101.com, [.] gets interpretted as a period character. I have also tested this personally. If i use \. or just ., it'll filter like "funbootprom" and whatnot, despite regex101.com saying \. should work. if i use [.], it doesn't, it works Exactly As You Want It Too. I already tested this.

We are both right. Escaping \ with another \ resulting in \\. does the same as [.]. Brakets are more usual for character classes as used for the delimiter in the original expression.

I'm new to all of this and trying to get my Wii that I dug out of storage going for my 6 year old daughter. I'm hoping someone can help. I followed everything in wii.guide to softmod. I have installed WiiFlow WFL 5.5.3 and USB Loader GX 3.0 r1272 (for emuNAND and WADs). My question is, can I use Wiiflow Plugins Pack v11 with Rhapsodii Shima 5.4.9 and which one should I install first? Also, is Rhapsodii Shima 5.4.9 the newest and is this still a recommended Theme or are there other preferred or newer options? Sorry for the newb questions, I'm trying to get up to speed quickly as I have an impatient 6 year old on my hands waiting to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Thank you in advance for any guidance provided.

First you must install wiflow lite, second the rhapsodii theme and finally add the plugin pack, the first time you enter wiflow change the theme on page 2 and on page 12 adjust the coverflow so that it is shown when you start wiflow to start the next time on the carousel (arcade, handled, retro consoles and computer). Raphsody 5.4.9 is the latest version and is for me the best available theme, you can change the background images yourself if you don't like the official ones, even add consoles not initially available as in my case I did with Sega's Msu-Md. If you are in a hurry to play Teenage Mutant ninja turtles (arcade version) you can do without the installation of wiflow and the Shima theme and directly install retroarch mame 2003 and play directly by opening the corte corresponding to this game, make your son happy and configure quietly the plugin pack and the theme to your liking when your guy leaves you for a while.

Thank you for your reply. I have successfully setup Raphsody Shima (it looks great) and I'm going to install the WiiFlow Plugins Pack v11 next. There are more emulators in the pack than I will likely use. Is it possible to "hide" the emulators / systems that I'm not using? Thanks for your help!

Alternatively, if you navigate to \wiiflow\source_menu\Rhapsodii Shima, you should find files titled "arcades.ini" "computers.ini" "consoles.ini" etc. If you open those files in a text editor, you'll find each of the buttons in the menu, and each one should have a line looking like "hidden=yes" or "hidden=no", and you can just manually edit those to be Hidden or Not Hidden.

That's perfect, thanks! So far so good, I'm finding this is similar to setting up and customizing a RetroPie or Recallbox build on a Raspberry Pi.

It looks like I may have made a mistake or skipped a step somewhere on the installation of Wiiflow Plugins Pack v11. When I select Retro Console (such as Atari 2600) I receive a message of “No Plugins Selected”. If I hit the Home Button and click on “Select Plugins”, nothing happens. If I go back a menu to where you select the console system and hit the Home Button, click on “Link Source Buttons to Plugins” it will either freeze the Wii, requiring a hard restart, or show a blank screen depending on the console I select. If I click on “Set Plugin Rom Path” its blank. Before I repeat all of my steps I wanted to see if anyone had run into something similar before. Thank You in advance for any assistance you can provide. Below is some information about my setup.

The Wii (RVL-101) was factory reset and has System Menu 4.3U. I followed wii.guide and used str2hax. Homebrew Channel, BootMi, Priloader, cIOS, Homebrew Browser, USB Loader GX, WiiFlow WFL 5.5.3 were installed in that same order. Next I installed Rhapsodii Shima 5.4.9. I set up all my Wii, GC, and WAD games with covers. Everything looks and works great. Lastly, I installed Wiiflow Plugins Pack v11 and followed the instructions in “Installation.txt”. I copied “Copy_TO_SD_OR_USB” folders and files to the root of my USB HD. I copied “COPY_TO_SD” folders and files to my SD card. Lastly, I copied “COPY_TO_USB” folders and files to the root of my USB HD. On "Game Partitions" I set "Plugins Default Partition" to USB1. One other note, Turbo Grafx 16 and Turbo Duo are hid by default. I wasn't sure if this was on purpose.

I'd start by getting things working via SD or USB initially.

Using BOTH at the start will be confusing. Remove one and check if things are working as expected.

My SD card is large enough (32GB) that I can repeat the install using just the SD card and see how it goes. I'll report back my findings. Thanks!

Open up \wiiflow\source_menu\Rhapsodii Shima\consoles.ini and scroll to the Atari 2600 button. You should see an entry titled "magic="

Simultaneously, navigate to \wiiflow\plugins\Atari 2600, and look through the .ini files in that directory.

The "magic=" line in consoles.ini should be immediately followed by an 8 character code. This code is what links the buttons on the menu to the plugins. Make sure that code matches one of "magic=" lines from one of the 2600 plugins. Personally I've been using stella_libretro.ini, which has a magic number of 52413236. What you hav right now might be pointing to an outdated plugin whose magic number & plugins data no longer exist.

If you encounter this problem with othr consoles, this is going to be the typical solution. If matching the magic numbers If that doesn't work, it means there might be something weird going on in your \wiiflow\plugins_data\platform.ini file. I can upload my own setup if the problem persists.

I just looked, you are correct. It might be noteworthy for the devs though as this was a fresh install. That is, if there was an expection that it should work without manual adjustment.

The Wii was never modded previously, everything was installed from scratch. The SD card and USB HD were unused. So out of the box, you can't use Rhapsodii Shima 5.4.9 and Wiiflow Plugins Pack v11 without manually editing and matching the magic numbers. My guess is the v11 plugin pack works for some because they are upgrading and not installing a newly modded system.

SO i think the issue is that the files come from separate developments. Like, consoles.ini comes from Rhapsodii Shima, which may not be as up-to-date with what's being developed in the wiiflow plugins pack, which is done by a different person.

I'm updating the magic numbers in consoles.ini to match the magic number for the plugin. For systems with multiple plugins, is there a recommended "default" to select?

here lemme just send you my setup. To pick your default you'd have to test them. I know for SNES and Satellaview and SNES MSU1 i use SNES9x GX. I can't give a more comprehensive answer though. So gimme a second.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/wfldkn95suo36a4/wiiflow.zip/file Extract the contents of this to sd:\wiiflow and say "yes" to all overwrite prompts. My setup is just a little different than the default Rhapsodii Shima 5.4.9. In addition to having the plugin buttons updated to match Plugins Pack 10.1 (I haven't updated to 11 yet but i think everything is still the same mostly), i do have a bunch of buttons Hidden for consoles i wasn't satisfied with the emulation for.

Additionally, there's three extra buttons: Commodore 64 Demoscene and openBOR under Computers, and SNES MSU1 under Consoles.

I manually updated my consoles.ini file for the 6 systems I'm using. I needed to update the Magic Number for Atari 2600 and 7800 (and maybe one more) but I'm still having the same core issue. No Plugins found. Before I change anything else, I may try gZa's suggestion to move the plugins pack to the SD card only and stop using the USB to see if it works.
