I will link here my preset, to not lose it in the closed thread and whoever wants to use it does not lose sight of it.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/archived-xenoblade-chronicles-3-graphics-settings.615901/post-9891927

Updated presets with IPS patch for 1.1.0 update.

Updated presets to v1.1

Updated presets to v1.2 (final update).

As we say in Spain: Never say never (Nunca digas nunca). Updated preset to v1.3.

NOTE: Since this is the final update, I'll not support the preset anymore, if in the future we receive a patch for the game, you only need to add new IPS file from OP Masagrator post to get working the mod again.

To avoid comments out of context or destructive criticism as has happened before with a certain user: I share these presets for personal taste and for whoever wants to enjoy them, at no time do I specify that they are the best they will find or that my settings are the only valid ones. They are adjustments made from my personal experience, arranged to my liking and optimized to the level that Nintendo Switch can support.

These are the general JSON settings, whoever wants to edit it for their own benefit or research is free to do so.

Common features:
- Better shadows with greater distance and quality
- Antialiasing revamped, now more efficient, ported from my older XC1 and XC2 settings.
- Better resolution with their respective improvements in the LOD, terrain and vegetation (they are linked to the internal resolution of the game)
- Slightly tweaked colours in bloom, shadows and clouds for better environment
- Performance mostly reach 30 FPS in larger areas, battles and cutscenes if you overclock CPU/GPU/RAM to:

Installation (WITHOUT DLCs):
- Unzip and drop Atmosphere folder in the MicroSD root for Switch.

Comparison screenshot:

I hope you enjoy it :grog:
Dumb question maybe, but I shouldn't overclock my Switch for best performance according to this? The OC values you list are just default for docked mode

Fixed, I didn't specify that those values were for portable mode.
By default, with XC3 Switch works at 1020/368/1333MHz (more or less, I don't remember numbers exactly) in portable mode and 1020/614/1333 1020/768/1600MHz in dock mode.

uh what? unless you really butchered the game those docked values are way too low that ram value alone is concerning and would cause horrible performance

Docked mode can work only (excluding Boost mode) in 1020/768/1600, anything else is officially not supported by SDK.
What? I'm telling that the game BY DEFAULT use these values. Set sys-clk profile all to 0 and see the clocks with tesla.

docked mode is literally only ever 1020/768/1600 by default. somebody needs to delete their sysclk profiles not to mention the fact if you use reversenx it does not activate docked clock values automatically unlike using an actual dock

Ok, my failure

you said you got it working and see no difference which yeah makes you the only person
Relax man, no matter how much time passes you are still so aggressive with everyone. Not everyone is able to see easy changes. You can see that there are many people who don't difference between 30 and 60FPS for example.

Exactly, I tried 60 fps in every switch games and I tried overclock a lot... I have never seen any difference.

Just in xeno torna if I don't overclock to 1600mz and 460 the game is lagging on portable mode. That's it.

The game is not going from switch to ps4 magically, graphics are exactly the same and maybe instead of 22-27 fps the game should be 24-30 fps but for me it's the same

Normally, most of the graphical changes in Switch unless you are the creator of the mod or goes to compare 1:1 it's almost impossible to see most changes consciously.

However, in terms of framerate, once you become a PC player and adjusting the graphics catches your eye a bit, you already realize if a game runs at 20, 30, 60 or 144FPS. On Switch 99% of games run at <30FPS (Most at 25FPS lmao) and if you get used to it you don't notice a difference at higher framerate.

you just read it as aggressive I was just being straight forward.

I've been playing the game at 30FPS with no drops. as for the frame claims that I see a lot "I can't see frames blah blah" go play a game that actually runs at a stable 60FPS for example Three hopes at max clock for about an hour and then try to play it at 30FPS you WILL see a difference. same applies to playing a stable 30 instead of mid to low 20. people just assume their brains don't adjust/adapt/get used to a certain framerate same reason if you play only 60FPS games it can make 30FPS look horrible but after a while your brain adjusts and you stop noticing. and no most switch games don't run at "25FPS" with overclock you can get most running at a stable 30FPS its 60FPS thats the issue. idk why you think graphics should change that has zero to do with it but playing between docked and handheld you can notice a big difference

deathblade200 I can't say more... If you are not used to 60fps or more you really cannot notice it. I had ps2 and dreamcast, the rest is only portable system so I have never enjoyed 60fps. Even if I put 60fps on YouTube or if I watch my friend play on ps5 I think I need to play my own game for hours to be sensitive as you said.

This is why it cannot be a generality

For this game sometime if you tweak config too much it goes 20fps but for real I see no difference with 30 even after 50 hours aha

anyone know how to make

"red_sclX": 2.0,
"red_sclY": 2.0,
"red_hdsclX": 2.0,
"red_hdsclY": 2.0,
"red_AtMaxX": 2.0,
"red_AtMaxY": 2.0,

and disabling outline (i forgot which option it was)

works?

I've compared them on my switch, docked, and cant see any difference between outline enabled/disabled and scale/maxxy 2.0 or 1.0.

as I've stated about 1000 times now all raising it above 1.0 does is cause graphical glitches such as ghostly doubles of the blue lines in battle. the game already runs 720P handheld and 1080P docked with 1.0. you can also just use the cheats I posted earlier to change the resolution at anytime without messing with that setting.

thats odd that the outfit effects it. I myself had no issue with that scene. although if you are playing handheld with the 460 gpu limit then yeah you can expect frame drops they just won't be as bad without the blur. but using max clock everything should run without any issues the max I've ever needed for battles and cutscenes with very heavy effects is 1581/921/1862 but thats rare to need and its always 30FPS. I'm wondering if somehow the sysclk version effects it since other people have the issue while it works fine for me so this is the sysclk version I use https://github.com/jope82/sys-clk-uncapped-gpu-and-other-extras/releases/tag/1.0.2_b

this is everything else I've changed in my config

"AntiAliasing": false,
"red_sclX": 1.0,
"red_sclY": 1.0,
"red_hdsclX": 1.0,
"red_hdsclY": 1.0,
"red_Auto": false,
"red_AtMaxX": 1.0,
"red_AtMaxY": 1.0,
"red_AtMinX": 1.0,
"red_AtMinY": 1.0,
"blur": false,
"0xF333710C": 0.0,
"tmaa": false,
"furBlur": false,

Hi deathblade,

Unless I missed it, have you happened to release a patch with your settings? If not, would it be much trouble to request as much?

Basically, I'm looking for a config that either removes dynamic resolution scaling or keeps it to an absolute minimum. I don't mind a heavy OC to achieve it.

Thanks!

https://www.mediafire.com/file/qfur1q83ho897sr/lib_nx.bin/file this is the exact one I've been using to play including 0.0 blur. if all you want is resolution changes you can also use cheats to change it
