I completely agree here that you should sell it and buy another.

There are so many people out there whining about not being able to find a 5.05 console, you could easily sell it for enough to put towards another console.

It’s your choice obviously.

I'm about to do the same. Just not using the jailbreak enough. Want to update to play Spidey and newer titles.

Again would be more beneficial to sell yours and let someone else have an increasingly rare 5.05 console, then buy a brand new one in Black Friday/ Xmas / January sales.

Yeah but selling is complicated. I've never sold anything on internet, so a hacked console I'm not sure is a great way to begin. I would not know where and how much I would sell it. Plus, I could get scammed.

You should only sell it as a 5.05 PS4 anyway, it's up to the buyer what they do with it.

People know what buying a 5.05 PS4 gives them, you don't have to make a big deal out of it.

A good way for figuring out how much to sell it for, do an ebay search for ps4 5.05 and tick the sold listings checkbox.

It depends on what people are prepared to pay in your country, but it can be possible to sell a used ps4 slim 5.05 and get enough money to buy a new ps4 pro.

Hi ...

My advice for what it's worth ... Certainly don't update the 5.05 to a later (latest) FW, keep it as it is, and - unless cash is very tight! and this is an issue! buy another PS4, you will then get the best of both worlds if there is an absolute need for you to play newer titles! and would therefore only sell it as a last resort! I have seen a 5.55 Dev Exploit set-up, but whether or not this will make its way into the public domain is anybodies guess! but from what I currently know! I very much doubt it at the moment! Devs are not stupid people and know only too well that an early release of an exploit will only encourage Sony (who are also not stupid, and are constantly on the look-out) to try and kill it as quickly as possible! In reality it is a constant cat-n-mouse battle between the experts on each side of the fence! Also Game Developers have also to consider and be mindful of sales based on people that run an exploit system such as myself, but do not hold with Piracy in any form, and who believe in the game developers right to earn from their work, but will not purchase a newer game if it won't play on the system firmware they are currently running, and who have no intention of going on-line or updating! and think this can possibly be seen by looking at the rapid price drop in some of the newer releases, and feel sure that this must - in part - have something to do with that fact ... for myself, if it won't play on my system - and not exactly sure what actually will and won't with newer releases! - I won't buy it! simple as that! - and will return too - and enjoy - the games that I do own, and which I have quite a number to go at, and feel sure I will enjoy just as much 2nd or even third time around! ...

Cheers ...

If you have the spare money, I would get maybe a second unit to play games online, 5.05 unit is gonna be rare if you preserve the firmware as oppose to updating it, rumor has it no new exploit will be coming out any time soon.

Did you reuse the same account you used on ps4 jailbreak and are you still unbanned? I'm dejailbreaking now and want to now if it is a problem if i were to reuse my account.
Sony has yet to ban anyone for FPKG offences.

But to be safe, format/remove anything HEN/FPKG related. It’s just not on their radar yet. (Even 4 years ago when the OP made this thread :P)

Same account should be fine unless you tampered with the kernel clock too.

I doubt Sony would ban a console after going legit, but doesn't hurt to take all precaution. Personally I would have kept the jailbroken PS4 and bought a 2nd PS4. It's a decent emulation machine (PS2/PS1/PSP with Sony Emulators), and with official retroarch on the horizon.
