Update :) a special thanks to InfiniteBlue !

@XploitOcelot I added a video option to disable the hi resolution, so now you can play Super Buster Bros with the video filters ;)

Here is a preview of the other new option to disable the sprite limit (Super Aleste fans will appreciate it)

We gotta try the "disable sprite limit" setting with game that were plagued with missing sprites. I think Magic Sword did that a lot?

(Sorry I published the message on Snes9x Rx thread first, but I hadn't seen you left a message here too!)

Hello Tanooki, thanks for this awesome fork.

Is it possible to add background music like in GX? I tried to the same way as GX works, but there was no sound playing on the menu.

Thanks
I don't think @Tanooki16 will add again the background music.

Background music takes a lot of Wii's RAM (just 64 MB of RAM), and the main objective of Snes9x TX is having full speed on most SNES games emulated on Wii. And one of the removed things for having full speed in most emulated SNES games on Snes9xTX is not having any background music so it won't take too many Wii resources.

Background music works. Put "bg_music.ogg" file inside apps/snes9xtx folder.

100% wrong on that.

This.

@Tanooki16

Using latest 1.1.1 beta Original or USA release i have a strange occurrence. After testing RX and GX as well as TX 1.1.0 this issue does not exist.

In the process of updating many screenshots i am selecting and starting many games to create the screenshots and select (No-Intro) WildSnake and get black screen. It does not freeze, I can back out by pressing home button and continue using the emulator. The strange thing is if i rename this file either zipped or extracted to Wild Snake, it boots and plays fine.

I tried a different rom (Goodset SNES) with .smc extension and different crc and the issue still exists.

After deleting then creating new settings.xml, the issue does not exist any longer. Just thought i'd post and make aware of this, old settings.xml must be deleted. I think this should be common practice but i sometimes forget to do so myself.

Hello how are you?
do you have this vbagx version?

With OverClock feature available, it would make VBAGX worth using. Maybe on par with mGBA and emGBA for total function.

VBAGX lacks GB features that i thought would have been addressed, but is probably the very best GBC emulator available using through Wii, along with RA Gambatte.

If you want total GB, GBC, GBA emulation satisfaction from 1 emulator on the Wii?
There is nothing better than current RetroArch mGBA!!!

GBA speed is top notch, GB features are as good as anything on PC, and GBC only suffers from video tearing on some games. And i say with confidence, if you use this emulator, you most likely will never use another Game Boy emulator unless official mGBA fixes many GB, GBC issues.

When using Snes9x TX, I notice diagonal banding in Earthbound and compositve video artifacts in some games – especially around text – and I find it ugly and distracting. I imagine this happens because the emulator uses trap filtering by default and there's no way to change this in the emulator's UI or directly in the config file AFAIK. If I use RetroArch's Snes9x Next core without trap filtering on, this issue doesn't occur, but I generally prefer using Snes9x TX because it renders FF6 more accurately and also supports Super Scope games, and ultimately, I really would prefer to stick with a single emulator per system.
@klaudio5 I didn't notice because I only play in rgb, i'm going to find my rca cable to see what I can do ;)
Would also be interested in a way to disable the trap filtering :)
RA and WiiMednafen have an option for it, looks much nicer with it off when playing on a CRT via composite

@johw: I'm back from vacation, so I'm fine, thanks.
For VBA, no, because mGBA is much more advanced, so much so that even a new user interface and optimizations won't catch up.

@jaaj: I finally found my RCA cable, after testing there are two solutions: 1/ put the video mode in NTSC (the parasitic lines disappear) 2/ with my new version 1.1.1 it is now possible to use the bilinear filter in 240p mode. With this mode on a CRT screen, the filtering is very light, and to my great surprise, in addition to being free of video noise, it has a rendering very close to my real Snes connected in RCA, because the RCA signal of the Wii is much cleaner.

So, new update ^^
There is of course the CPU overclocking from the last beta. The user interface and menu have been changed a bit, especially the video settings. As said before, there is an option to enable/disable bilinear filtering, and a much more explicit and easier to use 240p mode.

@Tanooki16

Thanks Tanooki for another update of your amazing Snes9x TX.
Not gonna lie, Snes9xTX for me it's the best option for play SNES / SFC / Satellaview games on Wii (nice performance, GUI, and neat features).

Considering that SNES is the best 16-bit console of its era, i can consider playing its games on Wii using TX is much better than GX.

Amazing work again, dude :D

PD: Would you also update FCEUX TX in the near future? And how's the progress of a separate build of FCEUXTX for play the hack SMB 1/3? (Look down)
Anyone is interested in backport the changes made on this modification of Libretro's port of FCEUmm made by Tippek libretro-fceumm-mod (https://github.com/Tippek/libretro-fceumm-mod) to a separate code of FCEUX TX for add support for the hack "Super Mario Bros. 1/3" (made by Corpse Grinder) on a custom build of FCEUX TX?

It could be great to play this awesome hack on Wii, and since both FCEUmm and FCEUX TX are based on FCEUX emulator, this could be a little easier (i think?) :)

Thanks :D

Again, thanks a lot man :)
