Hm, do you have slow startup times with such a large card using 32K clusters? I've read some reports that loading speed increases if you use 64K clusters, and I've also read that in addition to GBA games, some native 3DS games can have weird problems if you use a 64K clusters, so it certainly seems like 64GB + 32K clusters is the maximum "everything just works" threshold? 🤔
Ive heard of others having things go awry. But for myself everything seems to load in decent times. I may get better results with the 64kbs, but it aint broke. so why fix it.

I think the difference between 32k and 64k is negligible, like barely noticeable unless you're sat there with a stopwatch. It's best to use 32k just to guarantee no tomfoolery, as I understand it.

I downloaded some files that are supposed to be a mod of NSMB 2for the emulator citra. My problem is that I don't have a good enough computer to play with citra. In the other hand I have a modded 3DS console in which I can install cia files of games. Is there a way I can do a cia file of the mod I downloaded just like you can with flips for SNES rom hacks?

Please don't ask the same question in multiple different places. That just causes confusion.

(Also, please learn to write better subject lines than "Is it possible to do this?".)

Are you using the standard ds forwarder or YANBF?
Can you try again with YANBF? Since you were using the standard method.

uh, well I guess I post my question here

I have a homebrewed 2ds xl, and it's kinda just taken apart currently, and has been for a while (the L button wasn't working and my mom decided to investigate) and I have another spare 2ds xl, also homebrewed is there anyway I can transfer over the data without loosing any homebrew (and pirated games)? and if not, is there any way without soldering (which neither I, or my mom know how to do that small of soldering)? thanks

You have two options: since both of your systems are modded, you can can either rip your installed games with GodMode9 to make cia files so you can install them on the other 3DS (or skip it if you still have those cias on your sd card or if you choose to redownload them instead..).
And backing up ALL your saves with Checkpoint, this is a must since saves are encrypted, you can't use them on the other system straight away.. (Checkpoint has a batch backup option to do it in one click.. ;))
The 2nd method is doing a system transfer, it's up to you which one you should choose, but if you want to keep both systems as is then do the 1st method.

You mean replacing the L shoulder button? Or transferring your games or homebrew? Definitely not for the latter. Replacing the L button isn't that complicated, but have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back? inspect the ribbon cable and the connector pins if they're damaged. If both didn't work then you'd need a new replacement depending on your model.
Edit: It seems i might have underestimated the process of fixing the L button, 2DSXL's are different from 3DS family systems. Look through this thread to get an idea.

myself, I got a 128gb 32kbs and havent seen anything yet.

My sd is 200GB with 32k clusters. Themes, games, twilightmenu, open_agb_firm everything is working fine.
Hmm... thanks for the reports. I'm tempted to try a 128GB SD card with 32K clusters just so I never have to upgrade my SD card again. A 64GB SD card would probably be sufficient, but 4X my current 32GB card is definitely a larger safety margin...

You mean it wasn't in its proper place?

I really, really wish I did this before, so so many cias to build
so uh, some of the cias don't really want to build, it just says "insert content failed" and "cia build failed"
the games that I tried to build the cia of so far that did this are miitopia and minecraft, does anyone know what might be causing this and what to do?

Do you have enough space left on your sd card for those 2 games to fit?

alright, I did this, I got all the cias installed, I got all the saves checkpointed, uh how do I transfer over the data?, thanks
Btw, you're replying to yourself.
You just copy these newly created cias and saves to the other system's sd card. Copy the entire Checkpoint folder from the "3ds folder" to the target's sd card.
To install games on the target system, you just install them with fbi like you normally would.
Then in order to restore saves in Checkpoint, launch these installed games atleast once, then go to Checkpoint and click on restore. You might need to do each game manually, or do a batch restore if it's available.
