Hi all,

First off, I just want to start by saying that I'm FULLY aware of the superior new PicoBoot mod. I've in fact ordered about 5 of them to install in my other Gamecube consoles.

HOWEVER.

For this particular Gamecube that I have, I'm looking to install the older Xeno GC mod-chip, as I'm not going to be using it to boot games from a micro SD card. I simply just want to make the disc drive region free so I can play my PAL games library. -- However I'm a bit confused.

I'm on Aliexpress trying to order one and many of the venders (like this one) make you choose one of the following options upon checkout: "NTSC-J, NTSC-U and PAL". Which one should I be selecting if I want to install the modchip in a NTSC-J console but want to play PAL discs?

Cheers

That's just the optional region for Swiss.

I'd recommend just getting the NTSC-U disc, since it's not a PAL console and chances are you can't read Japanese. Swiss will patch the PAL game to work in NTSC during runtime, anyway.

Hopefully you're not using a PAL 50hz tv / monitor lol

PicoBoot got you covered... You can run burned DVD media or basically make your console region free with PicoBoot. We have to get over XenoGC as a community. Its time is over, period.
