Hi guys! So after a long time waiting I managed to get this... does anyone know what's the next step? Thanks a lot!

https://gbatemp.net/threads/problem-sd-partitions.614483/post-9865024

  1. Try using NXnandmanager or Emutool to see your emunand partition, make a copy and migrate it to another card. If you can’t read the card due to hardware issues there aren’t many other options.
  2. once you have a backup of your emunand you can combine it with your regular partition data to rebuild.
  3. At this point you can use rufus to format your entire sdcard to a single FAT32 w/ 32 k blocks.
  4. You should now be able to mount your sd card. Please confirm.
  5. once you’ve confirmed the card is working you can use Hekate to slice up yiur partitions and then restore your file system backup as well as your emunand partition backup.
you are at step 3

I actually bought now. a bigger card, so I'm starting over.

Should I just put all the back up (the big emummc folder that was in the normal partition and the recovered from the hidden one) on the root of the new microSD?

I also noticed that bth emummc folders contain a emummc.ini, which one should I keep, the one from the hidden partition back-up or the one from the normal partition back-up?

then the folders and files inside the emummc older would be HPE0, ER00, emummc.ini

Do I have to change any name of any folder?

Thanks a lot!

Let’s take stock of what you have.

please post the contents of any emuemmc.ini files.

please post a screenshot of the files from the backup of the hidden partition.

Thanks a lot.

I did two backups of the hidden partition: One with SX OS option and one with the atmosphere option on the source ( I wasn't sure which one was right, but I assume the SX OS and indicated before in this threat)

Here the different emuemmc.ini files:
https://we.tl/t-mV7NmMPYmp

I changed the extension .ini for the corresponding backups, general meaning visible, hiddenpartition for Atmosphere and SXOSbackup for SXOS backup.

Also the screenshot with the files extracted from the hidden partition. Both backups have the same files I believe, but they are missing the extensions I think. I believe they had the extensions on the manual backups I was making with SX OS... but I don't know if this is normal.

Thanks again!

Update:

So I managed to copy the files, and changed emuMMC on Hekate to the copy I extracted from the hidden partition (SX OS)

It launches the system as I had it, same language, all games I had installed... The only problem is that it immediately says the SD card was extracted, so in practice I cannot do anything, even though it loads homebrew etc, but when I go in the storage management it doesn't detect the SD card for some reason...

So here I don't know what to do :/

I can access the SD card from Sysnand CFW, but not from the emunand FW lanched with emuMMC (I don't know if this is normal and i'm missing something...)

From the emuMMC I can launch homebrew and I can even explore the SD card, but the switch firmware won't detect it... I feel like i'm missing something

Format the sdcard as fat32 and try again. It could be that your FW only supports fat32 and doesn’t have the fat32+exfat version. FAT32 is best. Exfat drivers from Ninty are trash.
I had it in exfat before.

I created a new emunand and it worked correctly with the SD (Without saves etc, and actually in the same FW version of my OFW switch 9.2 (i can change emunand whenever I want I noticed, and to downgrade it)

But what I wanted was to make the previous nand work.

I suspect that since the previous emunand was set to work on the hidden partition, when I load it from the normal partition it tries to access the SD card somehow else... I don't know if there is any way to change this behaviour, but I suspect that if I transfer the emunand to a new hidden partition it will work correctly.

But ideally I would like to make it work with the file system based emunand and not having any hidden partition anymore...

Does anyone know how to change the settings of an emunand that was created as a hidden partition to a file system based one?

Thanks a lot!

If you insist…

I will only say this, files based emunand and exfat are both against common practice as they have a high probability of causing corruption, and leave it at that.

Emutool will do what you’re looking for.

Ah, I had understood the opposite.

I have no problem in copying the emunand again back to a new hidden partition... I'll see if I manage :) Thanks again!

I tried to create the new hidden partition with emutool, but it doesn't seem to do it... do you know how should I create this partition in order to transfer the files from the old partition?

EDIT: I created the partition with hekate and now i'm transfering the old partition with emutools... hopefully this will work :)

Was about to type just this. Let Hekate drive…it knows the correct size and locations. Emutool will correct the emummc.ini file for you once you move yours in place. Once done just copy your *fat data onto the mountable partition and it should all just…work!

Well, I did all of that and I honestly don't know what's wrong anymore...

Any idea?

sector 0x2 is an SXOS style location at the beginning of the SDCard. Hekate typically puts you emunand at the end. I think you’re pointing to the wrong sector of the disk. Please share what your partitions look like on the SDCard (DiskManager will do what we need). I think we want to try restoring it as Atmosphere partition.

I restored from Atmosphere to SX hidden partition. Then, out of hope, I pressed somewhere in hekate to fix boot / emummc or something like that. And that did the trick.

After I could finally make it work, but all programmes were corrupted. I just replaced all atmosphere files and... all worked again!!!

So happy, didn't lose a single save nor programme!!

Thank you very much for all the support, I hope this threat can be useful for someone in the future :)

Now i am trying to repare the first SD card but there is no way to remove the 30gb hidden partition...

I tried with windows disk utilities, parangon, disk drill, SD formatter... sometimes it manages to delete all partitions and format it, but when I insert the card it's still unreadeable and the 30 GB partition is back there...

I tried deep format, quick format, full format... nothing seems to fix it... anyone has any idea how to repair the SD card? I don't think it's broken, I think it's just impossible to get rid of this partition...

Thanks!

Hate to break it to you but those are the symptoms of a fried SD card. I had the same issues with formatting and partitions not wanting to be deleted with a barely month old 1TB Sandisk but luckily it was still under the manufacturer 90-day warranty and they replaced it.
