Homebrew Homebrew Apps Forwarded to NSP

This is a collection of 4 essential (in my opinion) NRO Apps forwarded as NSPs. It currently consists of the HB App Store, BrowseNX, Moonlight, and TriPlayer in the same theme as the Homebrew Menu NSP made by Ibcap. This was simply for fun and am hoping to add more over time.

There is no such thing like a NRO converted to NSP, there are "forwarders" installed as NSP what are "Shortcuts" on your home menu what execute NRO files on your SD card. you can create any one you want using (I know, I know you can compile a homebrew directly to NSP, but is no a NRO converted, is a new compilation).

If you Hombebrew is updated you need to update the NRO not the NSP because the shorcut remains active since you don't change the NRO path or name.

Hi @Clumsy_ ! I've been trying to do exactly what you did with Moonlight all day! I am using Nro2Nsp but I don't know how to set it up! I tried in many ways, I can create an nsp file with the right icon, name and images, but when I try to launch the app from the Switch it gives me an error! I'm going crazy, I also can't find a precise guide on how to do it on the web. I signed up on the forum just to ask you this question. Many thanks in advance.

Nro2nsp only work up to ofw 11.x. 12.x and newer don't work with nro2nsp

Yes but it didn't worked. I figured how to do it watching a Spanish video on YouTube using another software and it worked (I can't post links since I'm new in the forum, but it's a video of 4 months ago). This works, but now the real next step is to create a link in the home screen that boots directly the game on Moonlight. I've seen a video on YouTube of Manito playing Sonic Generations with Moonlight and he have the game icon on his home screen, and that icon boot straight into the game. That's awesome, but I don't know how to do it. If someone have info about that let me know. Thanks

Can you give some keywords of the YouTube videos you are talking about so we can watch directly what’s being done?

The name of the video is "Forwarders NRO to NSP Lanzadores: Firmware 144 SIN save data: NRO 2 NSP. Quitar Applet mode" by MaSieS 4Fun. I made a mistake, the video was not 4 months old, but 4 weeks old

That was the video for using SAK (Switch Army Knife) to create the forwarders. Good stuff. Thank you.

I think it might be a trick rather than a direct load of a game but I need to see what they are actually doing with Moonlight to confirm or deny my suspicions.

very much looks like moonlight ,right down to the horrible framerate and latency

That's the exact video (Manito is a youtuber, exactly

I thought you meant the forwarder was targeting the game inside Moonlight since you can’t see the Moonlight interface at first. But now looking at it better, at the second 00:05 you notice a cut of the video where in all probability you could see the connection to the PC and the various settings of Moonlight before the start of the game. Pretty fake video (in the sense that the gameplay is genuine, but the path to open it, which was the real magic, nope). So basically it’s not possible, but it would be nice if it was. I hope to see something like this in the future.
