Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II heads to Nintendo Switch next month

More Star Wars news is coming from the annual Star Wars Celebration, with Aspyr Media announcing that after having brought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to the Nintendo Switch, the sequel will also be arriving on the platform soon. Initially released for the Microsoft Xbox in 2004, Knights of the Old Republic II is Obsidian Entertainment's sequel to BioWare's RPG set in the Star Wars universe. KOTOR II will be out on the Switch next month, on June 8th, priced at $14.99 on the Nintendo eShop.

What does "restored DLC" mean?
KOTOR 2 was famously incomplete. and some very dedicated modders used source from the PC and OG Xbox release to find significant amounts of data, eventually bringing back not only most of the cut content, but also an entire extra planet.

For a while there, the release on Steam was the best to get, entirely because Aspyr was able to do this big update that updated the game to run better on modern OS's and integrated steam workshop support, so it dramatically makes it easier to get, update and manage the mods available.

Can't see the trailer yet, BUT, if this means the Switch port is seeing the restoration mods too? well, that just gives me all the reason to buy it again for the system.

I've heard about those, and that's why I asked. If they become official, then I will buy this for sure!!!

Indeed, it will be interesting to see if it's just the same old restoration mod or if they've reached into the archives and found content that even the restoration mod couldn't touch.

I began to play this on the go with the Steam version on my late GPD Win about 5 years ago, I felt I was at the top of the world. I'll buy this.

Having the cut stuff mod separately is great news, and if they actually improved on it - even better (though I doubt it :)).

KotOR1 is thoroughly mediocre, but 2 I'll gladly replay - again :)

more old crap finally hits nintendo.

i swear their promise of better support always means, you will finally get to play everything we failed to provide from generations ago.
Easy purchase to have a handheld version of kotor 2.
hmmm shame you need to expand your horizon then, as this came to android and iOS like what 2 years ago.

and its likely emulated on other portable devices too.

this is awesome but it would be nice to see some new star wars games getting released. ea has done a horrible job with the rights to star wars and hasnt released enough star wars games.

what they made star wars squadrons and star wars jedi fallen order which both are pretty damn good and now fallen order sequel.

only the battlefront ones are so so but neither of them are bad games per say.
so yeah

they gave you a star wars game every 2 years and they are few? seriously some people just complain for the sake of complaining

battlefront 2015
battlefront 2 2017
jedi fallen order 2019
squadrons 2020
jedi fallen order sequel 2023

they also had aspyr to release star wars classic games simultaneous with EA and aspyr released for current console games like
jedi outcast
jedi academy
episode 1 racer
republic commando
old republic one and 2
force unleashed

upcoming old republic remake

i dont think anyone can complain about the ammount of star wars games from 2015 and forward...

If its like the first game on switch this game will probably also receive an hd texture pack making the nintendo switch versions of these games the definitive games to play because they are the best graphically.

squadrons and fallen order were very short games. the fallen order sequel should be already done by now. i can complain as much as i want. we got a ton more star wars games released each year when i was a kid.

Plus battlefront 1 and 2 were garbage. particularly 2 because of the the whole paid advantage bullshit when it launched. they redeemed it to some extent after that but that game is the reason we even have laws regarding that shit now lmao. not exactly something to praise ea for delivering. squadrons is mediocre and is mostly enjoyed for nostalgia reasons by fans of tie fighter etc that give it a pass for its flaws. jedi fallen order is the first actually good game that respawn themselves fought ea over to make good. it certainly wasnt good because of ea lol. however gonna hard disagree game should just b finished already. taking their time means itll actually be good. theres no need to rush it out the door because "more games is better" games were simpler back then. they are much harder to make now and people have all these expectations. quality is better than quantity
