Thanks!

I just want to see if I’m understanding this correctl.

1) So I assume when you say online you are just refering to connection detail being setup on Switch OS. When the nand backup is done it will be a online nand dump then?

2) The emunand is a copy of my online sysnand then and hence the reason for exosphere, and the blocking of the Nintendo servers and switch info.

3) So booting to the emunand will I assume boot me into the Switch OS but the switch will run from the emunand. Even though my connection details will be present and internet will be on, the various ini files will block the internet.

with that said please just give me a quick list of the order I should do things if possible.

You’ve answered many questions for me before but the deeper I dig it seems I confuse my self when I think I have it sussed

Maybe I should just take the plunge 😬

Thank you!
There is no such thing as an 'online' of 'offline' eMMC dump. We don't refer to backups with different terms if there is or isn't any Wi-Fi settings entered into the console however do keep in mind that any Wi-Fi settings will be backed up when the eMMC backup is made.

Outside of that, I can't really think of much else you should do because making a backup of your eMMC is the only thing I recommend you should do; everything else is up to personal preference which includes setting up emuMMC, using whatever homebrew applications you prefer, and any other general advice. There are a lot of different things you can do with a hacked console so if there is something you're interested in doing on your Switch, see if its possible and research it as much as possible.

Does anyone get joycon disconnects when playing in handheld mode?

When I'm playing fortnight in handheld mode, every few days my right joycon disconnects and re seating it will not reconnect it no matter how many times I try but connecting another joycon will work.

Its become so regular that I keep another joycon next to me so I can do rapid swap over, reconnect the dodgy joycon the next day and it will be fine again for a few days.

Strange behavior.

Okay so I absolutely wiped my SD card BUT i have the backup. How can I restore my games and reinstall atmosphere and hekate? I use this guide https://rentry.org/SwitchHackingIsEasy

You should be able to just follow the guide to the letter and get a base working system installed.

Once you have that done, theres an easy way and a more surgical way…let’s see if we can do the easy way first.

Carefully compare the /emuMMC/emummc.ini file on your SD Card and on your backup.

If they are exactly the same…down to the last letter and last number…then copy the /emuMMC/ folder from your backup and see if you can boot up.

If the emuMMC.ini files are not the same we’ll need to be more surgical.

Ping once you’re at a stopping point…

It is not. Requires V1 with RCM.

Requirements

  • RCM-exploitable Switch
  • RCM exploitation method (Usually a jig, but other methods can be found)
  • Computer
  • USB-C cable/USB-C Switch autoinjector
  • High quality SD card >= 16GB
  • microSD card reader for the computer
What's a "USB-C Switch autoinjector"? Do I need one if I have a USB-C to USB-A cable?

Hi, recently I did a raw partition backup since I wanted to add android to my switch. I have failed, but that doesn't matter. So I had to repartition my card which included wiping everything (I backed it all up), but the problem is that I have restored the emuMMC and the boot 0/1 (with raw partition on), but all I could get was Pkg 1 / Pkg 2 mismatch, could not launch HOS. I found a different tutorial and supposedly fixed it, but now I am greeted with a whole new problem. And now all it says is Unknown pkg1 version. HOS version not supported Or emuMMC corrupt! Trying backup bootloader... Found pkg1 <''>. Unknown pkg1 version. HOS version not supported! Or emuMMC corrupt! Failed to launch HOS! Press any key... Any help would be appreciated.

Let’s get some information so we can better assist…

Which guide we’re you following:

FW:
Atmosphere:
Hekate:

Do you inject a payload (and if so which one)
or
Are you using a ModChip (and I’d so which one)

Please paste the contents of your /bootloader/hekate_ipl.ini

Either from a backup you should have made of you emmc or by creating it again from your sysnand.
yes I know how to make it, but I don't understand What @ThinkPadT530user did, hi could restore a emunand backup to the sysnand, or restore a partition backup to a emunand file based or something.

uh, is it bad that som1 on discord has already told me to delete my contents folder, which i did?
No worries! It’s totally fine.

The /atmosphere/contents directory has things like your system modules (themes and stuff) in it.

System modules often break things when you upgrade Atmos/FW so it’s common to tell people to delete them.

I like to keep a backup instead of deleting so I can move the modules that work back and identify and download updates of the ones that don’t work.

No big deal.

Reinstall Tinfoil from the installable .nro on the downloads page of tinfoil.io. Make sure you start hbmenu in title override mode for the install by holding (and keep holding until you see hbmenu) the (R) trigger.
