Good morning, afternoon, or night, depending on when you read this. I just finished installing a couple of things to my previously modded 3DS (Professor Layton Miracle Mask and the first Great Ace Attorney). The thing is, as soon as FBI finished installing it and I tried to go back to the home menu, it gave me an error, and asked to reboot. I tried that, but, every time I turned on the console, the light would just turn on and then off almost a second later. I tried running it without an SD card, but it gave me an error (I don't think I have Luma 3DS updated on the console itself)

Is there any way to fix this?

I've been trying to figure out if I could just uninstall the game from my computer, but I cannot figure out which folder is the one containing that game

Update. I was able to uninstall both games, but it still won't boot. I don't know what to do anymore ;-;

Judging by the light goes on and off check your boot.firm file it may be missing or corrupted
I actually have replaced the boot.firm file 2 by downloading it from Luma's site. It's still the same. And when I replaced it, it gave me an error saying the SD card was not detected (Photo below)

At this point there's not much you can do except try another SD card (set up appropriately with boot.firm and boot.3dsx).

Alternatively, you can copy everything off your SD card (Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier is recommended), format the card, test it with h2testw, and if the test is okay, copy everything back again. Sometimes that is enough to fix some problems.

To be sure, whatever this is has nothing in particular to do with Great Ace Attorney; it's just a coincidence. (For whatever reason, when cards go bad, it tends to happen when taking them out and putting them back in again.)

I was able to uninstall both games, but it still won't boot.
How exactly did you uninstall them without booting your 3DS? Deleting random files on your SD card is rarely a good idea.

I'll try with this, but before, I had already tried the Quadruple Formatting method someone else had mentioned. I'll also check if I can use another SD card

edit for this part: I also did use h2testw, and it verified successfully

As for this part, I can still use GodMode if I don't have the SD card inserted, and when I inserted while in GodMode, it does detect it. I went into the SDCard Sysnand, looked for titles, and deleted both Miracle Mask and GAA from there

I should add that if this is an o3DS and you are using a microSD card in an adapter, then the adapter could be at fault.
... h u h... let me try switching it, will update

Okay, just tried it. I'm back to the blinking light

I don't know what else you're expecting at this point? Your 3DS isn't reading your SD card. You say that h2testw didn't find any problems, so evidently it isn't failing. You either need to try a new adapter or a new SD card. (Or you can try cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol if you want.)

I think I might need a new sd card. I remembered that I hadn't replaced the corrupted boot.firm when I reformatted again, and it gave me the SD Card not mounted. Now I also just cleaned the contacts and it's back to the blinking screen.
And the thing is, I don't even know if that'll solve it. Because, the 3DS does detect my card when I enter GodMode9 (As mentioned before, I can access godmode if I take out the card and do the procedure in that). I honestly don't know what to do anymore

Just to add to this point, I was able to move the boot.firm in the SD card into the NAND, and now, I can boot it without the SD Card. Doesn't solve much, but it's progress on having it actually turn on

I tried taking the Boot.firm out of the card. It still allowed the 3DS to boot. As soon as I put the boot.firm into the SD Card, it gives me the mounting error

Did you run the games after installing them?

Nope. Literally right after I finished installing them with FBI and pressed the home button, it gave me an error screen and shut down (I really wish I had read the error). And then, that's when the blinking started

I hope you're using a fresh boot.firm from the Luma github, because a corrupted boot.firm would cause problems, yes.

Okay, update on this situation

Turns out, this problem was generated by 2 things
One, which was one thing that was mentioned, was the boot.firm, it did indeed get corrupted
The second one tho, was also one mentioned, which was that the SD card got damaged.

The way I tested it was, using the old backup from my 3DS (With the old boot.firm), I tested a different sd card. It went back to the blinking light.
Then I remembered that this update had the old boot.firm, so I replaced it with a fresh one and... IT WORKED, it gave me the Luna Menu when you update the boot.firm, and the 3DS booted up with the new SD card.

Now I just need to get a new 64gb SD card (or just a 32gb I guess, because I never actually got past that threshold)

As a separate note, I tried inserting my old SD card again, to see if just having the luma menu pop up would fix it, but no, it still gave a mount error.

Thank you to everyone that help me to get it working again. I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart! Thank you so much!
