Can't install a .wad onto dolphin emulator

I'm 90% sure that I would post this is the Wii discussion area.
I cannot get Dolphin to install a Wii System .wad file, specifically IOS80-64-v6944, and also IOS80-64-v6943. I have tried with other versions of dolphin and now I'm sitting at version 5.0-4588. What happens is when I go to tools > install wad then select the wad and open it, dolphin crashes. I tried deleting the "Dolphin Emulator" folder in "Documents" but to no avail. Help is much appreciated!

Problematic wad? Id try another one. Last time I used Dolphin and it has been a while, wads just load up like an iso when chosen from your folder. Does it have a banner icon next to it in your dolphin list?

I couldn't get it to show up in my game list either (so no banner icon lol), what I'm trying to do it install it. It just crashes when I try.

My apologies, just re read its a system file not a game. Where did you get the wad and what is it exactly?

Not sure if the second post here is of any help but apparently that wad needs patched?

I got it from the wehackwii website, they have a list of wads. Its Wii System Menu version 4.3U
