Which one has lower loading times and is faster at installing game data, the PS3, the PS3's USB, PS3 discs or PS3 NET Server? Does the latter install game data in the PS3?

Most likely internal, disc/usb, ps3netserv in this order. The only method that install games on the ps3 is usb (for PS2 games only as it's not supported to run on external drive), all other use cases run the game directly except from game data that needs to be installed on game start, those will go on internal drive and they can be quite big for some games.
I thought webMAN MOD could run PS2 games via USB.
The thing is, even though the PS3 might be faster, I want to spare its HDD since I want to have a lot of PS1, PS2 and PS3 games. I have a 1 TB HDD and a 2 TB external HDD.
Why is PS3's SATA controller 1.0 (which runs at 1.5 GBit/s) but its HDD is SATA 3.0 (which runs at 6 GBit/s) and not SATA 1.0 as well?
What about POPStarter via SMB on the PS2 vs. PS1 discs on the PS2?
Do you know IRISMAN's USB maximum storage? Is it 2 TB?

It should be 2 TB but I've seen people say that you can use more, I don't to which extent and how supported it is. I guess it's better to stick to 2 TB, that's already a lot for the PS3

And the maximum microSD card/USB storage for the PSP, PS Vita and PS TV and the maximum storage for OPL via SMB?

How can 1 TB be the official PS3's storage limit if, it seems, even 1.75 TB works?
According to Wikipedia, it's possible to replace the PS3 Super Slim's 12 GB eMMC for a HDD. What are its advantages?

and as far as I know, only a maximum of 1.5TB is possible
Well, the biggest advantage is simply more memory
So, may 1.5 TB not be stable? It's just that I think 1 TB HDD + 2 TB external HDD won't be enough for all the PS1, PS2 and PS3 games I want.
I thought there might be performance improvements. How can I reach + 18 MiB/s of PKG upload speed since in Reddit there are users which claim they've reached + 30 MiB/s?

Well you could use multiple external hard drives.........
If you have a lot of Ps3 games it probably makes the most sense to have them in ISO format on an external hard drive and only install PSN backups and games you play often internally.........
and if you have a large ps2 collection I would personally recommend a PS2 in combination with an OSSC or GBS-C

That's what I was thinking. PSN games and PS2 ISOs on the PS3 and PS1 and PS3 ISOs on the external HDD.
Is OPL on the PS2 more compatible with PS2 games than the PS3? Does the BC Fat PS3 have a higher PS2 game compatibility than the non-BC PS3s (I have a PS3 Slim)? And what about OPL PS1 game compatibility on PS2 vs. PS1 game compatibility on PS3? I guess the best solution for playing PS1 games is a PS3 and the best for PS2 ones is OPL in a BC Fat PS3. That way one wouldn't have to use both a PS2 and a PS3 but just the latter.

PS3 consoles that are not backward compatible use emulation and have here and there problems with some titles.

What about running PS1 games on IRISMAN on the PS3 vs. running them on POPStarter on the PS2?

PS1 on the PS3 runs almost perfectly and Popstarter on the PS2 has some compatibility issues........which is why I would recommend the PS3

Maybe OPL via SMB runs PS2 games better than IRISMAN on the PS3 and the latter runs PS1 games better than POPStarter via SMB on the PS2.

yes, that's right.........although I would rather use opl with an internal hard drive or a SIO2SD/MX4SIO adapter
Why? Are they more compatible and faster than SMB? Also, I don't think SIO2SD and MC2SIO are officially supported by OPL.

This is just my personal preference
and sio2sd should work with the latest opl version (there are definitly test builds that support it )And as long as you don't use an external hard drive, the speed shouldn't matter

My games are on an external HDD connected to the PC and I use SMB. Is it slower than if the games are on the PC's HDD/SSD's/eMMC's/SSHD's?

Thing is , the videos work fine in the Edge Dev and Canary builds. But whatever the fix they made was, has never been pushed to Beta or Stable builds. Its been that way for as far back as I tested. Which was Edge 84. They are on 125 now.+1
