It's been a while since I touched my WiiU.

I'm backing up the WiiU library but I don't want to waste space with redundancy.

Decrypted content can be played on CEMU, which is something I want.
But as far as I know decrypted content (code/meta) can't be installed on a WiiU.

It used to be like that. Is it still true?

Or should I backup everything as encrypted, tik/cert, and have cdecrypt ready for using this content with CEMU?

Still true. The problem is that modern systems index content. It's been like that since the wii and ps3.

Thanks.

I'll keep everything encrypted. It's 3TB and I don't want to waste another 3TB just for the same content decrypted.

Maybe in the future CEMU can implement cdecrypt into it.

Or if loadiine could load from USB, decrypted content would be the way to go but there are limitations to each scenario.

Try jnus tool by @Maschell . It has cdecrypt integrated, so it will download from nus then decrypt or use usb loader. It can decrypt content during or after download. Just go to CEMU format in options for that particular game.

I have not used jWUDTool before so I can't comment if it's an easier to use or not, but below is how I used to extract/decrypt WUD files.

Without getting into the step by step process, this is a manually driven process, since you have a WUX file, which is a compressed WUD file, below is the run down as to what you need to do:

  • You need to decompress your WUX file back to WUD file using WUD Compress tool, which can be found HERE.
  • Then you need to decompress the WUD file using a app called "DiscU_4.1b", google is your friend. Below is the command line you need to use:
    • DiscU.exe game.key game.wud c
      • Where "game" is the file name of your WUD file, for simplicity sake, just rename the WUD file to "game.wud".
      • The most important part is the *.key file, each game has a unique disc key, without it, you will not be able to decrypt the WUD file. The *.key file is a HEX decimal file which contains the unique disc key. Piracy is not condoned (had to put this disclaimer) but if you happen to download the WUD file, it should have included the *.key file or a scene release NFO file that will have the HEX decimal key info included. If this is the case, then you will need to create a *.key file, easiest way is to create a text (txt) file, rename the extension to .key and use HEX edit software to edit the file and then copy and paste the HEX decimal key. If you don't have the *.key file then try google.
  • Once the WUD file has been decrypted, you will get a few folders (it's been a while so can't remember what the folders are), one will contain the WUP files, .app/.h3/.cert/.tmd files.
  • The most important file you still need is the title.tik file, this should be in another folder, system folder I believe.
  • Now you have all the needed WUP installer files, proceed to copy the files to SD CARD and install as per normal.
  • Please note: You may more than one folder that contains the .app/.h3/.cert/.tmd files, reason for this is that, since the WUD file is a 1:1 copy of the retail disc, the retail disc may contain game updates, hence the multiple folders, you know it's a game since the total size of the file is large.
I'm sure there is other ways do the above, and possible much simpler like jWUDTool, but the above is what I used to do, it's a long manual process, that is how I roll. It's been a while and I may have left some info out but that is pretty much what you need to do if you want to go down this manual driven road.

it work for me but it made a system folder 2 and 3 which titlr.tik i should use

It's been a while, but from memory, but it's normally the folder that has largest overall total size for .app/.h3 files, that is the one to use. Other folders that are small, are sometimes, updates that the game requires.
As for the title.tik, just try one that works, normally the Wup installer will tell you that it's the wrong one, if it is, copy the other title.tik file.

I just wanted to make sure to use to decrypt the .wud/.wux file we are looking for the disk key correct. There is the disk key or application eshop key. what does the application key diference with the other key. What would we use the application/eshop key be use if im correct that we looking for the disk key when decrypting the wud/wux files

Sorry, I dont understand what your asking.

Basically the disk key (*.key) is a file that is required to decrypt the WUD file, there is only 1 *.key file and it is unique for the WUD.
With scene dumps, its usually a file or the HEX info in the NFO file, and its up to you to create the *.key file using the HEX info.

If you have already decrypted the WUD file, then there is no use for the *.key file anymore.

afaik, that's correct. I know that uwizard uses a sha-1 generated somewhere to determine if the key is correct. this is when loadiine was the way to play games, so I think it decrypts them into code, content, and meta folders. you can then use nus packer to reencrypt them as wup install files. iirc, nus packer will use a generic key if you leave it as blank (default), but you can create one or make up one basically if you want.

i do appreciate the help. I just received a wii u so im all new to this. I ran into an issue after using nus packer. When i go to install the game using the wup install files im getting verify wup files are correct & complete. DLC/E-shop require Sig Patch. Im using Tiramisu and did Copy the 01_sigpatches.rpx file to /wiiu/environments/tiramisu/modules/setup and still get the same message than i also try the signature patcher but still the same. How do i fix this

Use the usb helper. The helper checks the integrity of the files. But don't ask me what that means.

I couldn't really find a way to check the integrity of the file but i try many games all of them did the same thing. I believe it haves to do something with the Sig patches. Is there certain ones that work with Tiramisu

You probably didn't set the Wii U common key for NUS Packer, did you? In other words: When you see this in NUS Packers logs you didn't set the Wii U common key, so the Wii U can't decrypt the files and as a result thinks they are corrupt:
Code:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WARNING:Empty or invalid encryptWith key provided. Will use 00000000000000000000000000000000 instead
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you used the correct Wii U common key (confirm by looking into the logs) and the 01_sigpatches.rpx file is there it should work... In case it still doesn't please show us NUS Packers logs (make sure to censor the Wii U common key inside before, else this is a break of the forums rules).

Ok thanks you for helping me out. I'll look into it when I get off work and send you the logs. I follow this tutorial https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-nuspacker-for-noobs.454684/.
