srry my fault i thought ps3 was 6gb and yeah it would be running at 1,5gbs

And what if the HDD was SATA 1.0, would it run at 1 GBit/s and not 1.5 GBit/s?
That site doesn't say if SATA loads games and installs game data faster than USB and it says installing a 7200 RPM HDD doesn’t do much for loading times (reduces a second or two).

the site goes over everything and yes it says that but it also shows in the table that 7200 still has the highes transferrate
and obvious yes sata 1 would be 1 not 1,5 and sata 2 or 3 would only run at 1,5gbs but like the table shows there are also ps3 models with sata 3 gbs instead of 1,5gbs
Which one is faster, the PS3, the PS3's USB, PS3 discs or PS3 NET Server? Does the latter install game data in the PS3?
EDIT: It seems SATA 1.0 already runs at 1.5 GBit/s.

What about the PS3 with a 5400 RPM HDD like mine? Are those speeds maximum or some of them are average?
Also, what about POPStarter via SMB on the PS2 vs. PS1 discs?
EDIT: If swapping the PS3's HDD for a SSD, do I need to swap the PS3's SATA as well or it will work with any SATA SSD?

like it stated on the psdevwiki you can install ssd with no problem at all only downside like you stated the controler would be the bottleneck and about modding a new controller in i dont think anyone has done it bevor maybe you have more luck on psx-place i know there are some crazy guys who knows more about frankensteining a ps3
and again those question are all answeren on ps3devwiki i would advice u just to browse through the wiki it will answer all your questions and give you more information than i ever could

Why is PS3's SATA controller 1.0 (which runs at 1.5 GBit/s) but its HDD is SATA 3.0 (which runs at 3 GBit/s) and not SATA 1.0 as well?

What about SSHDs in the PS3?

nah not an actual page about that topic but you could hunt your infos down on that wiki
the sata controller was changed to 3gbs on later models
about smbopl/popstarter vs ps1/ps2 discs : the difference is not so much the speed but compatibility opl over samba would be the same speed as ethernet around 17mbs
ps 1 disc would still be just 2x speed even thoug ps3 can read compact disc up to 24× speed (29.49 Mbit/s)
ps2 disc would be run at dvd 8x speed (86.40 Mbit/s)
ssdhs would be more practical than ssd but its the same speed than 7200rpm only reactiontime would be faster

What do you mean by ethernet? So, would OPL SMB be faster than PS1 and PS2 discs and would the PS3 read PS1 discs even faster than OPL SMB on the PS2? And what about OPL on the PS3?

cmon i definetly know you didnt look at the devwiki properly because you wouldnt ask the same questions again and again
the first model with sata 3 was CHECHLxx
samba opl runs via ftp protocol over ethernet wich is 17mbs max on ps3
and like i said ps1 would be still running at 2x because some games would break on higher speeds
in theory in depends on the game but from my experience your good with just ps1 and ps2 isos over webman/irisman
especially if its a checha/chechb since those models still have full ps2 hw build in

I didn't know SMB used FTP. Why do you call SMB "Samba"? OK, but I was talking about OPL on the PS2, not on the PS3. So, PS1 games would still be running at the same speed as PS1 discs on the PS2?

yeah thats true the wiki isnt very pleasant to look at but it provides us with all information we could ever get on ps hardware
SMB stands for samba wich is like an ftp server but it uses smb/cifs protocol instead of ftp
SMB OPL is a modiefied OPL version wich is optimised for SMB (playing games over ethernet)
on ps2 its a little different ps1 disc games would run at 24x speed thats why some games didnt play right since some ps1 games needs the low 2x speed to run correctly
So, after all SMB doesn't use FTP like I thought.
There's no optimized OPL version for SMB.
OK, but what about the comparison between running PS1 and PS2 games on POPStarter and OPL via SMB?
EDIT: If I disable IPv6 in the current Windows network adapter and reset the router (which removes the previously Cloudfare IPv4 DNS I set on it) I'm able to access 1fichier but sometimes it looks distorted and I have to refresh the page until it looks normal but on the phone even after setting its DNS to match Cloudfare's I stop being able to access 1fichier so I guess I should set Cloudfare's IPv4 DNS on the router again, enable Windows current network adapter's IPv6 and use a VPN to make a second download on 1fichier right after making a previous one (which is possible thanks to a VPN and even with the original router IPv4 DNS set and with IPv6 enabled in the current Windows network adapter I'd still had to use a VPN to make a second download in 1fichier right after making a previous one).
EDIT 2: I enabled IPv6 on Windows network adapters, set Google IPv4 DNS in Windows and Android and I still can't access 1fichier. Why don't I have this problem when using the phone's mobile network? I'm returning to Cloudfare's IPv4 DNS in the router and Cloudfare's IPv6 in the PC. I guess I'll have to use a VPN every time I access this site.
EDIT 3: My ISP installed a new router and I can access 1fichier.com without even changing the DNS on my phone and PC and it also doesn't appear distorted. I guess it was the previous router's fault. Also, this router uses the same SSID for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, it doesn't let me separate them and it doesn't let me change the networks' DNS.
