Lately, I'm having blackouts after turning on the TV when playing PS2. I have audio but no display.

I use a PS2 to HDMI adapter and I connect its HDMI cable to a HDMI switch. I changed the PS2's USB port in which the PS2 to HDMI adapter's USB cable is connected to, changed the PS2 to HDMI adapter's HDMI cable and even the HDMI port of the HDMI switch in which it's connected to but I still have this issue.

What's weird is that if I have this issue and turn off and then on the TV, I stop having it (until it returns after the TV is turned on next time).

I don't have a set of composite cables. I tried changing the video settings, but still nothing. The TV is detecting a signal.
Does it show like a green picture or any other color on the tv? I assume if you're using component it means the crt or hdtv you're using has component inputs, right? In that case, it could be something with the cables or the tv input, i would check both..

something is definitely wrong with the system. my other ps2 has no issues with the cables, input, or anything.

May my problem be caused by a faulty MC or some system or FCMB configuration?

I hope it's not the TV's or the PS2's fault...

Well, but it only happens with the PS2 and not with the set-top box, PS3, PS TV and PS5...
That's why i told you before to try with composite cables too, and if they don't work either, it's either the ps2's AV port, or the inputs on your tv (hdmi, component, composite)..

Faulty AV port? Take a look at it with a flashlight and see if there's any bent pins, corrosion etc. And clean it with a dry q-tip/toothpick. If it's still wouldn't work then maybe it needs to be replaced.

No. If there was any problem with the mc or Freemcboot it would still show the image. Again, you can try unpluging the mc and turning it ON?

I just got it today, so I'm sending it back. Seller claimed it was working.

I already did and still had the same issue. The problem is that this issue is random and so it doesn't happen all the time.

Then i don't know what else to tell you if you can't try the suggestions i've already told you multiple times already..

I can't try in another TV but I ordered official component cables.

They need to be burned to a DVD, as CDs are not supported by ESR. You need to check a tutorial online on how to patch & make them work correctly.

It seems PS2 CD games have to be converted to DVD.

So, the official component cables arrived and although I don't notice a difference between them and the PS2 to HDMI adapter, I'm not having blackouts.

To have display in most PS1 (and some PS2) discs working on my HDTV via component cables (just like before with the PS2 to HDMI adapter), I had to follow this (I didn't change offset settings but it still worked) and it seems I'll have to do it every time I want to have display in most PS1 (and some PS2) discs, which is annoying. What would I do if I didn't have a MC with FMCB and GSM? Would I have this issue on a modern TV if using Portta alongside component cables?

EDIT: Now I'm having some black screens. It seems the PS2 to HDMI adapter is the culprit, which is odd, since it's new.

EDIT 2: So, I bought this SGEYR HDMI switch, a new TV (LG OLED42C26LB) and Portta alongside official component cables and I have to follow what I said to have display in most PS1 (and some PS2) discs. I no longer have black screens but when turning on the new HDMI switch with no devices connected to it turned on, its green LED stays in source 2 (L2), and after turning the HDMI switch first and the device that's connected to it but not to source 2 (L2) next, the HDMI switch's green LED changes from source 2 (L2) to whatever source the device is connected to and if turning on the device that's connected to the HDMI switch but not to source 2 (L2) first and the HDMI switch next, the HDMI's green LED changes from source 2 (L2) to whatever source the device is connected to.

EDIT 3: When clicking some of the set-top box's settings using LG's magic remote after setting the universal controller, the HDMI switch turns on. Weird.

EDIT 4: Now my TV isn't saving the HDMI 4 input name I gave it ("PS TV/PS2/PS Classic") since it resets to "PS TV" every time I turn on the PS TV, PS2 or PS Classic connected to the TV's HDMI 4 input (via HDMI switch). Weird. When turning off the HDMI switch and the device connected to the TV's HDMI 4 input, the latter resets to the name I gave it ("PS TV/PS2/PS Classic").

EDIT 5: Now every time I turn on the HDMI switch/PS TV and the PS TV/HDMI switch, the TV automatically switches to the TV's HDMI 4 input and if turning the PS TV on after turning the PS2 or the PSC on, the TV automatically switches to the PS TV (L1).

EDIT 6: I uncked the "Enable HDMI Device Link" setting on the PS TV and I no longer have the 2 previous issues regarding the HDMI switch (and PS TV). It seems I already had disabled the "Control for HDMI" setting on the PS3 and unchecked the "Enable HDMI Device Link" setting on the PS5.

EDIT 7: I'll stop clicking the PS5's external HDD's power strip's switch overnight because after doing it next time, the HDMI switch (which isn't even connected to the power strip but to the TV via USB cable [and HDMI cable]), the set-top box and sometimes (which is also weird) the PS TV automatically turn on afterwards.

Also, it seems the PS5's external HDD is making a second noise even with the PS5 turned off and I have to click its power strip's switch or take its power cord to stop it as well.

EDIT 8: I might take the PS5's external HDD's power cord from the external HDD's power input from now on to stop these noises even if playing PS4 games on the PS5 will take longer since it will take some time to recognize the external HDD to load the PS4 games on it or to recognize the external HDD to install new PS4 games to it.
