I'm using the rare replay version. others have mentioned the same thing, with different games, no sound coming back from rest mode.

Hello everyone!
I was just wondering, would it be worth it to buy both the Series X and PS5?
Or would it be a waste of money and resources?

Depends on what you want to play, if you want to play games that are exclusive on Sony PS5 then get a PS5, Xbox rarely got good exclusive, also it is expensive to play next gen, a 4tb ssd for the PS5 cost 900-1000, while the Xbox Series S/X expansion 2TB card cost like 400ish.

@Hayato213 and I have both, on top of oled switches. I'm on disability (only get $560/month), but I was saving up my money. I had to borrow money from my parents for the series x, but I had enough money for the oled switch and ps5 on the same month. I've been trying to get my money back up ever since October (when I bought them). I should have be able to pay my parents back by June, as I've been paying them a little money every month. anyway, I use the ps5 more than the series x, though I have bought most of the interesting exclusives (have all the gears of war, and many others). if you have a series s, I'd say stick with that. right now, I have 0 series x discs. the deals on live for gold and game pass members makes that unnecessary most of the time. not all games are discounted, but quite a few are. I've yet to see an exclusive that wasn't on that list, at least the ones I've bought. I got lost odyssey for like $6 and blue dragon for $4 the day I hooked it up. beats swapping discs for one.

I haven't owned a playstation since PS2, and the only reason I want to get the series X is for the disc drive, which is a very stupid reason considering both the S and X do the same thing but the S lacks a disc drive. Plus I have both my games digitally and don't really care if I'm playing in 4k or not. Resolution doesn't matter in this day and age.
That's why I thought it would be better to get the PS5 to enjoy some Playstation exclusives, alongside my Series S.
As for backwards compatibility, some games are only on disc, like Batman: Arkham Origins, which I mentioned above. I could use my 360 for that, as I don't like a console gathering dust and not being used.

So at the end I'll be owning 3 consoles, my old 360, Series S, and PS5.
Series S for next-gen Xbox exclusives, Playstation 5 for Playstation exclusives, and my 360 for old games that are not available on the newer consoles. Which there are a ton!
I think it would be better to get the PS5, as I don't really have the free time to play on both consoles. Getting them both is for someone who has the free time to use both of them.
Think I answered my question myself. 😂Stupid me. Sorry for wasting your time everyone!
Thank you all for your great suggestions!

I have a lot of free time, since I don't work. however, most of that is devoted towards helping others on here or testing stuff. I've finally gotten into new games again after two generations that were duds. both systems are pretty solid, I think. it's just some of the issues with the series x irritate me. I've had some with the ps5, but they seemed to have gone away with firmware updates. the switch was like that, but now I have no issues with it, after years of firmware updates.

If you got deep pockets get them both, but do whatever you can to get them at retail price. B/c looking for a PS5 is a challenge itself without seeking a scalper. The Series X does land on store shelves, but in limited numbers.
PS5 is definitely getting some good AAA exclusives atleast before they land on PC as ports especially the new God of War Ragnarok is nothing to sneeze at.

speaking of the ps5, I just bought Jak and Daxter collection. it caught my eye when I was looking at those psn titles for their new tier service. I'm going to stick on the bottom tier for now. anyway, the precursor legacy is the only other playstation game I've platinum'd, so it should bring back memories. this is the ps4 version btw. the ps5 is a pretty solid buy considering almost all ps4 games work aside from like seven of them. load times are like a second or two, which is a nice touch. I don't think ps4 games benefit from that unfortunately.

I would agree with this PS5 is harder to get out of the two between Series X and PS5.

4 without a bot. Sold one to you, kept one for myself and sold two on ebay.
I've gotten a lot of heads up info from you, which is how I got the series x, oled switch, elden ring collector's edition for ps5, and tales of arise collector's edition. :D I just preordered a purple cover for my system as they went on sale today for preorder, release June 17th for the other colors other than black and red.

It depends, if you have a pc and if the ps games you want are on there to you really don't need a ps5. For example I wanted to play Days Gone and that was a ps exclusive but it came to pc so I just played it on there. But if you want to play bloodborne you would need a playstation. It really just depends on if the games you want are also on pc and if you have a good enough pc to play them.
