RetroArch 1.9.14 (Dec 2021) was the first properly stable release of RetroArch on Wii U in ages (and ages). The vitaQuake 2 core has undergone quite a bit of improvement and now includes cores for three add-ons.

Pretty much, it's now working properly on Wii U. I had a full play through of Zaero and am part way through The Reckoning. I found that in order to get an acceptable frame rate, I had to use the second lowest supported resolution and turn off vertical synchronisation. There's a few slowdowns here and there, however, nothing to actually stop gameplay.

bump. Unfortunately, I am running into similar problems: I only managed to get a very outdated version of TyrQuake running and Quake 2 not at all.

vitaQuake 2 works if I chose it manually ("Load core") and do the same for the game ("Load content"). The game is running decently on a low resolution. Since I use the gamepad for gaming a high resolution is not so important anyway.

vitaQuake 2 works fine, and I now played trough Quake II and its mission packs. But: did anyone get TyrQuake/Quake I working in Retroarch?
