Something that is terrible about the ps5 is that the microphone on the controller is enabled by default. You have to turn it off in settings, then press the button on the controller or else it will still be on. Not sure if they're recording you cussing at a game. Lol

Probably are, given that everything is style over function these days and there are no real games being made anymore. Its nothing but political propaganda or butchering beloved franchises because a bunch of tumblrinas and twitterites want to virtue signal "OMG IM WORKING ON HAAAALLOOOOOOOO XOXO" over fucking instagram every 20 or so seconds and pushed to get laws passed so they can legally just push out any talent in the industry.

Its why tiny indie developers with next to no resources and manpower are outshining these talentless crony hacks in recent times.

I will buy one in 2024 or 2025 when there are some on the shelf for $400. No real reason to own one unless your PS4 is dying or something most newer games (GT7 , Horizon Zero West) are still heading on the PS4 so idk

If you can grab a PS5 for $500 do it but if you have to like buy one for more than MSRP just wait... right now it is too much a pain to own one because they are hardly on the shelf nearly a year has passed and people still can't get their hands on one

This is why I said "fuck it" and just got a switch lite. They were easier to come by than an OLED or even standard switch.

I wish Sony made a handheld again idk what happened at PSP they had the perfect formula and they didn't utilize it for the vita imagine a GOW, GTA, Grand Turismo and etc..etc.. on the vita it would have lived longer than it did.

I thought they would have done that for the vita eventually when it first came out but apparently not. It was not exactly the weakest handheld ever made and more powerful than the 3ds. Shame that developers never utilized its true potential.

while it may be true that the ps5 is lacking in new, original games, there are several ps5 versions of games I'd like to get, like final fantasy vii remake for the ps5. probably won't really be able to notice much difference apart from load times, since the equipment in my room is quite old. however, I like that several games have free upgrades, in case you own the ps4 versions, or don't cost extra if you do buy the ps5 version directly. I have final fantasy vii remake pirated on my ps4, but I just have no interest in playing any of those pirated games. I got the ps5 largely for the ps4 library. I only owned about 13 games on it originally, with four, now five, being retail games. I plan to buy the kingdom hearts collection at some point, maybe next month, considering the switch version is just an insult. ;)
Yeah, I mean this has kind of ended up as basically a more expensive PS4 Pro that I didn't even really need, but I never got one of those and was still using a rather haggard old base PS4 phat, so the PS5 has been good for that. I have a shit-ton of PS4 games too, many of which I've never played, so I was always going to get a PS5 largely just to sustain that library anyway.

I think the vita came out in 2012 and the PS4 came out in 2013 or 2014 I don't remember but all the $$$ and attention went towards that...

The memory cards was pretty small and pretty pricey back then also so the vita was kinda doomed but ehh Sony have too much on their plate right now and remote play is doing fine

I was a day one buyer of the Vita, such amazing console, and it indeed got support from various devs. Sony was the one who treated the Vita as a second class project, and never gave it the deserved attention.

Also, there were some other bad decisions and bad implementations like the absurd choice of proprietary (and expansive) memory expansion, the lack of support of the PS3 (later PS4) remote play feature, and their indecision about the console's 3G significance (it was very clear that they cared a lot day one, and did not cared at all two weeks later).

I remember hearing the memory card pricing was insane. Its also why I was skeptical when looking for an SD card for the switch and surprised when it wasn't insanely expensive as long as it didnt have a nintendo sticker on it.

Dont get me wrong the faster loading time difference is definitely there, so if your the type that can't deal with PC upgrades then sure you'll have a great experience playing games like Final Fantasy XIV, Monster Hunter or any game with massive player support. Its just this aint a good year to hunt for 1. Even the Switch OLED is selling out crazy fast, I was only lucky to get 1 b/c my co worker hooked me up when 2 came in our store.

Personally I'll wait until the shortages are over to get a PS5 slim or pro when they are readily available in stores.

Until then I'll just stick with my PS4, most of my games I buy run well anyways and I don't really feel like hunting for a PS5 even when I know that it's 100% possible.

I wanted to get a ps5, but mainly for my sister.
Instead, since all the games she wanted are all also available on PC, i preordered a steam deck so she doesn't have to start a game library from 0
It doesn't we won't get a ps5 later though

the ps5 is a pretty solid system from what I've seen. haven't really encountered any bugs, but it is inundated with ads and crap. the series x isn't quite like that. it has ads, but they're at the bottom instead of in your face. however, the series x has a lot of sleep mode problems, so neither system is perfect.

I've never seen an ad on the PS5. Where do you see those?
