Curious, I have a CECHA01 running EvilNAT 4.88.2, and I have regular PS2 backups that I can play with Webman, but I'd like to try running PS2 homebrew, all the information I've seen is old and requires a SwapMagic disk. Is there a modern way to run PS2 homebrew that doesn't require a SwapMagic disk or can I create a SwapMagic disk or run an ISO of it or something?

You mean iso images or backup (burned) discs? If the latter i don't think that's possible.
As for running PS2 homebrew applications, i personally have never heard of such a thing. That's because either nobody have tried it due to low interest, or it wasn't feasible? Either way i have no idea.

Homebrew, like the Meritous port for PS2, or the Super Mario 64 PS2 port (which is apparently a real thing)

You could try ripping your burned homebrew to an iso file, installing the iso, and see if webman/mannagunz/etc has any success with it. Theoretically it should work; if it's correctly formatted for a PS2 to read it (albeit with security bypassed via a modchip/fmcb) then it should be possible somehow on a PS3.

ps2 homebrew may be possible on the ps3. I think both launch.elf and codebreaker are possible. as for others, I'm not sure. a bc unit would be the best one to test it on though, because a bc unit is compatible with most peripherals.
