I understand that with software such as snickerstream, it is possible to stream your 3ds screens to a PC and thus play 3DS games on a PC (and with a PC controller, vis5 luma redirect). My curiosity is, does snickerstream or another streaming setup for 3ds support 3D images? I have an oculus rift and software such as big screen VR, which allows you to view 3D videos, and I am curious if such a thing can be done with a 3DS. The ability to have real 3D on a bigger screen than the 3DS would be really cool, so hopefully this is somehow possible.

You can't output 3D except in the actual system. First of all, especially with a headset, you'd get absolutely nauseous and sick from the low framerate combined with terrible resolution/pixel density on a bigger display. Not to mention that there's many different kinds of "3D" and the type the 3DS uses and the type the headsets use is completely different. Finally, barely any games actually use the 3D, so even if you could export, not get nauseous and the 3D type matched, you still would get nothing worth all the trouble.

Isn't the 3D just rendering two images, then sending one to each of your eyes through some screen positioning black magic? It should be doable to replicate these 2 images with a capture software, or even just emulating the 3D with the streamed image, though you wouldn't actually be able to create the 3D illusion with a regular monitor.
