All games crash at some point, but they will always crash at the same point, but I'm reluctant to spend hours and hours on a game like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 if it's gonna crash when I'm 60 hours in, you know what I mean?
Hmm so strange. So really, really strange. I would almost want your save and insert it in my Switch and see if I crash at the same point.

So I have ordered a new SD card reader and installed that. Same. Ordered a brand new SD card. Same. I can only assume my firmware is corrupted somehow. Wondering if I should downgrade to an earlier firmware and upgrade again. Anybody experienced corrupt firmware? I forgot to mention I am not running emunand as I assumed I was already banned when that feature came about and never want to play online anyway.

Try reinstalling the firmware with ChoiDujour or eMMCHacGen.
