Banjo-Kazooie to release on Nintendo Switch Online January 20, 2022

It was announced last month that Rare's 3D platforming hit Banjo-Kazooie will be coming to the Nintendo Switch Online program, and a release date was announced just today. The game will be available for those with the NSO Expansion Pack, that allows Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games to be played, on January 20, 2022. This release is significant as Banjo-Kazooie was released during Rare's tenure as a second-party partner with Nintendo before Microsoft's acquisition of Rare in 2002. As such, Banjo-Kazooie has never been released on any of Nintendo's virtual console programs, and has only recently made his long-awaited debut in the Nintendo crossover series Super Smash Bros. However, in recent years, partnerships between Microsoft and Nintendo have become more common, ending the long drought of Banjo's absence from Nintendo's platforms.

If I actually had a Switch that could go online maybe I'd grab this, but my time playing modded Smash has not swayed my mind that much about it.
How are so many people banned? I've had my switch since launch, have installed games prior to release date, and STILL haven't been banned (CFW user since 2018)

It was only playable before on hacked Switches that can run Retroarch, and even then, in my experience, the game didn't run great and was prone to crashes. As for the spiritual successor, Yooka-Laylee was generally not well-received, I believe.
It's because you didn't spend the 5 minutes it takes to get it to work, no crashes and runs fine.

Updating games natively for about a year that were backups from cartridges I owned( or would then go on to own after playing for a bit ), honestly didn't bother me much at the time and was still a time of unknown ways of getting banned. I knew I could just keep my Switch offline, but was a different person at the time.

I got everything I could in world 2 on the series x version of banjo kazooie. I'm missing like four or five puzzle pieces, but I couldn't figure out where to go in it. anyway, the bug I encountered yesterday where there would be no sound coming back from sleep mode didn't happen to lost odyssey, and I played bk earlier at around 7 in the morning, and I've left it in sleep mode for about two or three hours. coming back to it -- that bug didn't happen again. I guess yesterday was the day of many glitches on multiple consoles.

Playing with an actual N64 will always be irreplaceable, just wish they would stop releasing butchered emulators.
