Hi Guys, i need some clarification about some questions:

I have a question about the new 13.2.1 update.

I'm currently on 13.2.0 with AMS 1.2.6 (AMS updated today).

NOW LET ME UNDERSTAND: if I wanted to update my original system to 13.2.1 how should I proceed ???

Could someone explain me some detailed steps about it.

I read that first I have to update my "OFW" in the classic way through "update software" from my "original" switch, and then from "AMS" I have to update the emuMMC through "Daybreak"...

But it is an operation that I never have done .. also, once updated "Everything", I have to redo the backup of the emuMMC via hekate menu ??

Could you give me a detailed explanation about all of that?

Thank you 😄

With "original system" you mean your ofw? If yes, you can update your ofw via system settings.

I read that first I have to update my "OFW" in the classic way through "update software" from my "original" switch, and then from "AMS" I have to update the emuMMC through "Daybreak"...
The ofw has nothing to do with the emuMMC. But the description is correct. There is no need to update the emuMMC instantly when an update is out. Except you are on a very old firmware. This makes the whole sense. Otherwise, there is no need to do that.

But it is an operation that I never have done .. also, once updated "Everything", I have to redo the backup of the emuMMC via hekate menu ??
No. Updating via daybreak means, that you have to install the firmware update via homebrew. Daybreak is a homebrew app (which is included in every atmosphere release).

@BaamAlex Thanks for your reply ! :)

Yes, I meant my original system!

So if I understand correctly emuMMC & ofw are two separate things.
So (for now), in my case on "(13.2.0> AMS 1.2.6)" I could only update my "ofw" without bothering to update the emuMMC with Daybreak, right ??

Correct. Everything what happens in your ofw, doesn't affect your emuMMC setup.

Also correct. Is there an E or S in the firmware version string? Do you use an emuMMC?

The idea is let ur original NAND untouched no AMS nothing, and u can update, at the original Nintendo settings.

And have a EmuNand on ur SD card for Homebrew , and with that u never go online, and u need to update it via Daybreak because u use no internet on it.

Corretta.

@BaamAlex, sorry if I forgot to write it

Yes, I should be in emuMMC as I read as: 13.2.0 | AMS 1.2.6 | E

The final "E" should stand for emuNAND, if it had been "S" I would have been in sysNAND (If I understood correctly), Right ? :D

Hi @NuadaXXX and thank u for the reply :)

So if I want to update to 13.2.1, I can do it first from my OFW normally via my switch settings and without AMS, and then update the emuMMC with Daybreak on FW 13.2.1 is that correct?

in any case thanks for the advice :yay:

It doesn't matter the order you update.

To update OFW, you will do that through System settings, just like any normal switch.

To update Emunand, you will need update files and daybreak to install them with.

Simple like that :)

You choose the order, it really doesn't matter.
Also, not sure you can find 13.2.1 files yet online to update emu with. There's no need to speedrun the update there anyways unless you are on a very old emunand firmware.

I always do it, it saved my ass with my old "first" not patched switch.
Although sometimes you think noooo, but you should do it better anyway.

Yeah mate, backups are always worth doing. At least sysNAND to save your butt from major f-ups

Hi guys, thank you all for spending a minute of your time for providing me with the information about it! I have one last question to ask you: After updating EMUMMC is it recommended to backup Emunand via hecate again or can I keep the old backup? (In my first backup there is BOOT0, BOOT1, rawnand.bin) and it was done at my first jailbrake when the switch was clean

AFAIK...it's safer to keep the first backup in order you messed something up in the time that you used your EMUMMC.
