Hey everyone!
Awhile back, when we were moving, my father had accidentally factory reset my Wii. How this was done is beyond me. I had to reinstall the Homebrew channel, but since then, my Homebrew installation has been very finicky. From having random UI freezes (music is fine in the background), the occasional failure to read from USB ports and other related things. The Wii is usable, but it's very frustrating to use, according to my 9 year old cousin.
Normally in situations like these, I'd reset everything to it's original condition/default state and attempt to restart everything from the beginning.
Now, I do have an old nand.bin sitting around that Dolphin is using, however I'm unable to use it since my Wii doesn't support boot2 (which I could've sworn it previously did, but I guess not). I took a look over at a different thread that I'm unable to link due to new account restrictions, but it left me with a few questions:
- How do I know which CIOS' to uninstall and which ones to keep?
- If I don't have boot2, am I unable to restore from a nand?
- My wii is the latest version, how can I reinstall the latest update?
Additionally, last time I installed Homebrew, I feel like I did the process incorrectly, such as installing a few extra CIOS'. Could someone give me instructions to have a Wii do the following things?
Requirements:
- Play ISO's/WBFS files from a USB. I previously did this through USBLoader_GX
Requests:
- Boot into the software
- Have the software be able to read the nkit format to save precious USB space
All I need is just instructions, I'll probably be able to figure it out from there. If the requests aren't possible, that's fine, I'll take what I can get.
Thank you everyone for reading this, and extra thanks if you responded.
