Kingdom Hearts series launches on the Switch this February, available only through cloud streaming

During the last Sakurai Presents livestream demonstrating Sora from Kingdom Hearts being added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a small tease was made that the Kingdom Hearts series would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. New information has been revealed regarding the ports, including the release date. As mentioned during their announcement, Kingdom Hearts 1.5, 2.5, 2.8, and 3 will all be on the Switch, but with the caveat that they'll be relegated to cloud-stream only titles. Additionally, the cloud collection will also be arriving in the west, with a planned launch date of February 10th. If you're curious as to how the game will run on your connection, demos are available to download on the Nintendo eShop as of right now.

100+ million sales, and they still couldn't be bothered to make an actual port. Square Enix, what the actual FUCK happened to you?

Those Doom ports are a work of art though, they're really impressive. I wouldn't expect that from every Switch port, but I suppose it does show the capability is there with the right developer.
I think KHIII should be considerably easier to do, and Square Enix definitely has the resources. It being an Unreal Engine game means they even have a foundation already. It's been a little while since I've played, but I'm pretty sure the Heartless generally appear the same as way as KHII so they're not populating the over world constantly.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA wheeze HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
yeah no UE4 ports on switch have a reputation for being literal dogshit in comparison to home console. Hat in time and GTA trilogy are examples (although in the latter it has more to do with the dogshit optimization)
It's always because of bad optimization that Unreal Engine ports are bad on Switch. That's what happens when you use the built in compilation and just make a few small tweaks like draw distance. Meanwhile if the Sonic Colors Ultimate promotional stuff is any indicator Sega may be using the open source engine Godot which has zero console support. https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_Colors:_Ultimate#Promotional

I'd say just buy the collection on the ps4, which will work with the ps5. that's what I did. it's 3 discs iirc, but it's like 10 games, I believe.

Definitely. You can get the All-in-One for like $25 too which is less than one of these cloud rental ripoff versions. No surprise that SE would pull something like this, but disappointing that Nintendo would allow their hardware to be used for it.

That's even less than what I got mine for. I thought about going all digital due to room, but I did buy a ps5 with a disc slot, so I might as well use it and just buy whatever is cheapest. Though Nintendo is still my go to console for most things.

Please, all.... dont support this crap.

Someone said, "imagine renting a game" yeah..... but imagine first, buying a closed system (probably overpriced compared to what you get hardware-wise) )and then renting games, if like we couldnt stream it on our budget devices (non-overpriced, still better hardware wise).

I'd rather eat the rotten asshole of a roadkill skunk and down it with beer than ever support cloud gaming.
i'd rather have a buffalo take a diarrhea dump in my ear before i ever try cloud gaming. If it goes mainstream, i'll be the angriest gamer you've ever heard.

my favorite is the Christmas special verse: "just playing some games, the worst he recalls, gonna find out which ones suck the most balls." haha
