Hi, does anyone know what it's the best performing Linux distro for PS4? I like PSXITARCH, but I'm not sure about it since I'm a noob.
It's the performance good? I want to run Citra and see if I can get fullspeed emulation of the 3DS there, I know Cemu for example runs, not very good, but it runs, I'm not sure if Citra would run well.
Thanks.

Gentoo is a way better than PSXITARCH... I think.

You gotta try those emulators yourself. We haven't tried it. ;)

Thank you! Yeah, I will try it later to see how it performs, I saw that there were hacked versions of Citra for Windows which has performance boosts, but I didn't found Linux versions... and I don't think it would be a good idea to use Wine for that either.
I'm pretty much a noob with Linux, but I guess that these distros already has all the stuff ready for the PS4!.

Yeah.. Fedora seems very good one as well. Why don't you test it too. I haven't tried it either but I will when I am ready this week or next week. Yeah, you dont want to wait huh ? LOL. Try it yourself. Its fun to experience. :)

Hi, I am wondering if I can install any distro or does it need to be made to support the PS4? I was thinking ChimeraOS would be great on the PS4. It supports Steam, GOG and Epic games, as well as emulators. Basically it is a souped up SteamOS with a very up-to-date version of Proton. This is pretty big as recent Proton updates brought OFFICIAL support for Battle-eye and Easy Anti-Cheat (what Fortnite uses), though not yet perfected, it still means online gameplay on the PS4 is viable. Lastly and most cooly, Chimera uses a web interface that you access from your browser entering the ChimeraOS device's local IP, then signing in and allowing you to import your PC Games library/emulators/ROMs etc.

No, I don't work on this OS, I am not a 'nux fanboy either, I have done some research on the most noob friendly gaming oriented 'nux distro and found this, which is a successor of GamerOS which is a branch of SteamOS and I really would LOVE to see this on the PS4. PLUS+ with the SteamDeck on the horizon and SteamOS being open-sourced, the improvements of SteamOS will carry over to other branches, like this...when updated that is.
