Is it normal for it to only say this for like, 5 minutes straight?

Often NUS will be slow to download or not work at all and it has nothing to do with things on your end. If you keep trying, it should eventually succeed. You can use ModMii to download this stuff using the cmd line version of nusd if you want to give it a shot and see if you have better luck

@XFlak - Kudos for continuing to maintain the Wii stuff. After 13 years, I finally updated nusd :) I grabbed the latest "NUS Downloader" source that was already archived from Google Code, and updated nusd. Very minimal testing so far though. If you think it's still useful, feel free to use.
https://github.com/wiiNinja/NUS.downloader.command.line
Question though: I use the latest .NET 4.8, but if it is useful keeping the older version of .NET, let me know.
I also found that WB3000 merged the CLI code into his code, but I could not get that to work using the command line. That and the occasional chatter about nusd prompted me to give this a spin.
Are there still people hacking the Wii these days?

Yes, people are definitely still modding their Wii's these days!

Out of curiosity, with the update, are their (slight) differences to the output /wads? I imagine so, which would make me hesitate to incorporate it into modmii as the many people that have cached these files may have to re-download (unless I build in logic to accept both the old and the new).

Regarding net framework, is 4.8 common on Windows 10 and older OS' like Win7? How does it compare to 3.5? If you're not sure that's fine, I haven't gone searching for answers yet, just thought I'd ask in case you happen to know off the top of your head.

Yeah, although the file sizes are the same, the MD5 sums show that the files are different.
I know there have been quite a few releases between .NET 3.5 and 4.1: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/do...ide/versions-and-dependencies#net-framework-4, but I haven't kept up with all the changes.
You have to maintain ModMii, so it's your call. Just thought I'd make it up-to-date with the GUI version.

@wiiNinja, think you would be able to whip up a version that uses net framework 3.5 for me please?

I've only tested using the included Sample.Batch.File.bat. It's on a branch: https://github.com/wiiNinja/NUS.downloader.command.line/tree/dotnet3.5/compiled.outputs
See if this works for you.
Seems to be working!! Can you remove this onscreen text for me as well please?

!!!!! THIS IS A DEBUG BUILD FROM SVN !!!!!
Features CAN and WILL be broken in this build!
Devs: REMEMBER TO CHANGE TO THE RELEASE CONFIGURATION AND CHANGE VERSION NUMBER BEFORE BUILDING!
Also, if it's possible, can we add an various backup servers and an optional server argument, e.g.

Code:
nusd.exe 0000000100000002 * packwad http://ccs.cdn.sho.rc24.xyz/ccs/download/

This has been implemented in a mod of your older version, source and binary HERE in case it's helpful to integrate into your latest net 3.5 build

And even if not arguments are specified it has a few different servers to fall back on, e.g. from sourcecode
Code:
            const string WiiEndpoint = "http://nus.cdn.shop.wii.com/ccs/download/";
            const string RC24Endpoint = "http://ccs.cdn.sho.rc24.xyz/ccs/download/";
            const string DSiNUSURL = "http://nus.cdn.t.shop.nintendowifi.net/ccs/download/";

Sorry if I'm asking for a lot, but this way I should be able to avoid troubling you in the future if there are server issues again, thanks!

I had a quick look at the code, and found that in the latest version, the author completely revamped the implementation.
The two servers that are in the latest code:

private const string WII_NUS_URL = "http://nus.cdn.shop.wii.com/ccs/download/";
private const string DSI_NUS_URL = "http://nus.cdn.t.shop.nintendowifi.net/ccs/download/";

The decision of using one or the other on the GUI version is a selection from the user to select between "Wii" and "DSi". I supposed I can add another command line arg to select one or the other. Otherwise, it defaults to Wii.

I've removed the version nag, but the custom URL will require some additional work. Can't promise, but if I have time this weekend, I will give it a shot. If I got something, I'll post back here, but you'll have to test.

I spent some time implementing the stuff you requested. Github is updated in the same branch with the new features. I did "some" testing, but probably not enough; you'll need to take care of that. Let me know if it works out.
