Hi everyone! I am planning on translating the new TMGS game, so I have been hacking into the game for the last 3 weeks. Here is what I achieved so far:
- I dumped the romfs
- It's apparently game, so I extracted the assetbundles
- I located 2 folders of interest: /lang/ja which contains some jsons and textures, and /scenario, which consists of .bytes files
- Editting the json files was easy enough
- I also managed to repack the assets into the game

All of these mean that I am ready to translate the ui elements of the game. However, I couldn't manage to open the scenario files. Most of the text should be in there. I tried to open them as text files in many different encodings, I tried to examine the bytes using a hex editor, though I don't think I did a good job of it, and finally I tried to decompile the game code to see how these files are opened in the game. Unfortunately, the DLLs are obfuscated and de4dot couldn't help me. I tried using IDA Pro to examine the code, but I honestly don't know where to start with it and where to go.

So, after 3 weeks of research and coding, I decided to ask for help here. Most of what I could achieve was thanks to tools and tutorials shared here, so I hope you can help me with this too. I am attaching a sample of the bytes files.
