does anyone know if this game has been removed from the eshop on the wii u? I couldn't find it on there, and the game no longer seems to work as it needs an internet connection of some sort, which fails, so I deleted the game, thinking something was wrong with it, now I can't redownload it. :(

Well, the Steam page still boasts cross-play between the Wii U version, and the last packet update for it was last month.
But yeah, I cannot find it in the eShop so far, and no news about it closing it's Wii U servers either.

Afak, NUSspli allows downloading it, so I will try it to check what about this.

Check out the two most recent Steam reviews, though:

it's a good game; but the servers are shut down..so you can't play it anymore.

Hangs itself up when i try and start any game mode.

Dev probably played to much hangman during developement. Ended up with a dead game.

Wasted 6 bugs on this shi t.
There's also this post on their official Twitter:
Since then, no updates about Lucadian Chronicles, just promoting their next game. Seems like it's probably just dead on all platforms, the only difference being that Steam didn't kick it off yet.

Huh, I didn't read the reviews actually...
Steam usually don't kick games off the platform for things like dead servers, they just limit the buying of them.
Nintendo in the other hand, does. It actually make sense.

Altough, I tbh haven't seen this game in the eShop since forever, so that's why it's kinda weird.

thanks guys. I really appreciate it. I actually bought the game, so I don't want to download it with wii u usb helper. it's actually the game I learned how to delete a fake ticket with. the game boots up, but then after it starts, while in game, it says something like ssl handshake failed, the game will now exit or something to that effect. I tried nnu patcher and turning off the dns, thinking that was the problem, but neither worked. I never realized you had to have access to their servers to play the game, because it's one of those games I bought yet never played (only tested).

Here is what Dark James one of the games developers had to say about the game.

Winding Down Lucadian Chronicles

Hi all - we've recently run into some issues with the game client being unable to connect to the servers. We have uploaded a new build that hopefully fixes those issues. If you're still having server issues after updating, or have other problems with the new client, please let us know.

Updating the game at this point is very difficult. The client engine and the server side implementation / tools are old and hard to work with, and some of the server functionality has been changed by our host provider. It's only a matter of time until it breaks again in a way that is difficult-to-impossible to fix.

As such we are going to wind down support for Lucadian Chronicles within the next 6 months. We will stop selling the game on Steam but it will continue to work for existing owners until the end of March 2022, at which point the servers will go offline and the game will no longer function.

Making the announcement now to give plenty of warning. We hope you've enjoyed your time with the game - we're sad that we have to stop supporting it but we'd rather do it on our terms than wake up one day to find that it's irrevocably broken.

I think they've already stopped support on the wii u. can't find the game on the eshop with search, and when I try to redownload the game, it gives an error: "this game is currently unavailable," so it doesn't even try to download it.

I'll check if lucadian chronicles is online in a few more days; if not, I'll just install the fake ticket one, then delete the fake ticket. however, I'll only do that if the game works, pointless otherwise. it may not be worth it if the servers are going down in three/four months though or they could be down already for the wii u. I'm sure they didn't sell many copies on that system.

alright, I have the game and the update tickets, legit tickets, on my system (just checked), so I'll install both, then delete just the fake tickets. I discovered on wii u usb helper that there's dlc for the game. I don't have that ticket, so I must not have bought it. I'll install it, the fake ticket, for my troubles. :P

I installed the game, update, and dlc, deleted the fake ticket for the game (the update didn't have one), and I still get the same error with the ssl handshake. I think their servers may be down permanently:
