Last year I setup my wii u and was able to successfully load up and play wii games using USB loader GX and GameCube games using Nintendont. I revisited after not using for 8-10 months and I haven’t been able to load USB loader gx anymore, it just says loading for 20 seconds and then goes back to the wii menu. Nintendont works fine so I’m able to play GameCube but not wii.

I use external hard drive attached to the back two USB ports. Any idea what happened and how to fix?

Are the appropriate USBLoaderGX files on the apps folder? And are you using a wad channel to launch USBLoaderGX?

I use a wad channel but have also tried loading through home brew and get same result. I’m pretty sure I have the right files in the apps folder. See screenshot for the files.

Hello.:)

Try and delete the "GXGlobal.cfg" and restart the Loader please.

Good Luck.:)

Just tried and that didn’t change anything. Not sure if this is related but every time I boot up the system I get a message saying that I’ve connected a USB storage device that has not been setup up with the console etc. I always have to click cancel instead of format since would erase everything I think?

my external HDD is Formated as FAT32 and nothing has changed in my formatting or files on the SD or external HDD since it was working last year.

Would you be so kind and make a sysCheck please ?

Everything is ok,your vWii Softmod is fine.
Do you maybe know, which USBLoader GX Version do you have/use actual ?

Maybe you can try and re-download/install a Build from @Cyan,
https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/New revisions (3.0+)/

r1268 or r1271 is recommended.

r1272 is not "unproblematic" but you can also try it.

The "new official" Builds from @blackb0x are also recommended:

By the Way,do you boot the Loader fom the
Wii U Menu Screen (Forwarder) or from the Homebrew Channel from within the vWii please ?

Good Luck.:)

I go into vWii and boot from my USB loader GX channel on my vWii homescreen. I've also booted from the homebrew channel within vWii and get same result....I will try reinstalling it!

update: I tried using wiiflow and it also wasn't recognizing my USB. I found another post that said to change the loader's IOS in usb loader GX from IOS 249 to IOS 58 and now USB loader is recognizing my USB and i see all my games.

However, I am now having an issue booting the games. I just get a black screen everytime and then it goes back to my main menu after 5-10 seconds. In USB loader GX the loaders IOS is 58 and the games IOS is 249. Any ideas what could be preventing the games from loading now?

You're missing cIOS 251, you can update both 249/250 cIOSs and install 251 here https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/vwii-modding

I'm using an original Wii. Are you sure this vWii guide will work?
No! I just assumed you were on WiiU and you said you were having the same problem as OP, since he was using a WiiU (and i only had a quick glance at the syscheck you posted). Use the link above provided by jeannotte!
