Paper Mario is the next Nintendo 64 game to be added to the Nintendo Switch Online lineup

Owners of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack plan will be able to play a new addition to the Nintendo 64 library. On December 10th, Paper Mario will be playable through the subscription service, bringing the Nintendo 64 offerings to a total of 10.

Really? That's embarrassing.

People pay for this service and you say "better than nothing."

No wonder Nintendo treats its fans like shit.
Exactly, big N execs are totally complicit with this crap. Paper Mario is a great game and all. But if they're gonna make people pay more for the addition of subpar emulated N64 classics, then at least compensate for that and add more value by including more games.

They know they have a quality product for which people will be willing to pay a premium because they've kept careful control of the supply. Also they want to turn a profit. Ughhhh, so wroooooong, amirite?

If you want to download the ROM, I doubt anyone is likely to stop you. Try the fanmade HD Texture Pack! (I'm not sure if it ever got completed, though.)
To be honest I never got into N64 like that and this really should be an add on for the $20 a year I just don't see the justification of spending $50 a year on this however I am going to look into the NSP version but I read you need to make am account and link it idk

I'm curious to try it but not so curious to spend $50 a year

Stuff like SNES, NES, N64 all those games are over 20 years old .... they should just do one big release and call it a day... I don't know why they hold a game over our heads when most people on here can download the entire romset

Nintendo can really do this correctly if they wanted too but idk what's wrong with them
Yeah I know how you feel. Is a big slap to the face. Years of virtual console build up to just close down a store, move to new console, buy the stuff all over again, with some stuff missing... Then make those nes snes mini consoles and then switch online launch without even having those games included at start. Or if can't include all, least match the size of them, nintendo themself make up most of the valuable collection alone clearly as seen with games like NES REMIX.

Still, the shameful part of the N64 on switch emulation problems thing isn't even worth announcing more games unless they update the emulator to make it more accurate. I still hope they will include more nes and snes games. There still games that would be nice to have up there. NES Gargoyle's quest, Mighty Final Fight, Rad Racer, just as examples. Moving on, TWO EXCLUSIVE Final Fight games, Mega man & Bass.

Clearly they was scared to even put up N64 Games cause it took so long. Probably should have just delayed it and replaced the schedule with gameboy/color/advance or something. Heck, sega genesis got up there, a package with master system & game gear as is own bundle would have been a decent replacement. (At this point I'm just pushing ideas. I doubt most people care about the 8/16 bit generations as much as the N64 one based on the reactions leading up to it) :ninja:

Ehh, call me when they add GBA or GC games... I'd be willing to pay to play Mega Man Battle Network and Pokemon Emerald online (especially if they keep the glitches). Kirby Amazing Mirror would be fun too.
Then there's F-Zero GX, Custom Robo and Melee on the GC, though online will probably be as trash as it is in Ultimate.

I genuinely wonder how many subscribers they have to this expansion plan.
Probably plenty if they put that little effort.

Well yes they could have gave us nothing this month remember something important SNES, NES they was supposed to give us 3 games a month and look what happened to that ....

Atleast they are giving is something this month is it the greatest no but its Nintendo they live on selling people remake games
You should be mad that they gave nothing before and be mad that you are paying more for less. Nintendo needs to be called out on their shit.

I mean I get the service is aimed at people who don't give a flying fuck about emulation but why should you be content with dripfeeding when you can get Retroarch, get a Redump rom set, and be on your way?

If Nintendo was smart they would have added those N64 games and the sega games for free and made a ton of N64 controllers they would have made more sales in the controller than trying to have you pay $30 extra for a lackluster online service but that’s just me

The controller is nice don’t get me wrong but I’m not paying premium price for that with little content

And thus commences the pitiful drip feed

Sorry, Nintendo, but I'll play it and many others on my Everdrive 64. Until you give us a service that is comparable to unofficial emulation or on par with the Wii VC N64 emulator, you can suck it.

not sure if I've played this one, I didn't really own an n64 back in the day. I may have played the game on the vc or something. the only real paper Mario game I remember well is the thousand year door. they really dropped the ball in the newer ones though, so I did like the earlier paper Mario games a lot more, so chances are I've played it.
