Hey!

So, I was going to go ahead and play Kirby: Planet Robobot, but it crashed...
You see, whenever I enter the first area transition pipe in 1-1, I get the following error:

Error type: generic

Process ID: 41
Process name: Kirby3DS
Process title ID: 0x0004000000183600

Address: 0x003e5cb8
Error code: 0xd900458b

I tried playing the same cartridge on my sister's 3DS, which doesn't have CFW, and it worked like a charm!
So... what's going on? I've got the latest version of Luma running, I've tried dumping the game to a .cia and installing it, and I've tried resetting my save data, but nothing works! If there's any other information that I need to give out, then please let me know.

Well, that's not a typical problem - though I can't see why you're saying "Crashes only on 3DSes with CFW" when so far you've seen a crash on exactly one 3DS with CFW.

Do you have any kind of cheats enabled in Luma? Does anything different happen if you remove your SD card before turning on your 3DS and starting the game?

No problems here runs fine

0xd900458b means a hash somewhere is corrupt, likely RomFS or savedata. If the game works on another console, something else might be corrupt. Could you include the full exception screen?

Yeah, that's everything that the screen told me. That is, unless there's a way to pull up more information.

I should probably explain myself a bit more. I actually have 2 3DSes to myself, one XL and one regular, both of which have CFW. Both of them encountered the error. I don't have any cheats enabled, and nothing changes if I remove my SD card before booting up my 3DS and starting the game.

You might consider editing your last post to add new information rather than making additional posts. (What happened to the auto-merge function, I wonder..?)

Does this new problem also happen on both of your hacked units? Have you been using these units for a long time without any other problems?

Could be a sign of something is corrupt, the system files maybe. Like @Kwyjor said, did you ever encounter any issues/errors with your 3DS before, or with other games? Are you by any chance using the 3D function while playing the game?

Oh, sorry!
Anyways, yes, this happens on both of these units, and no, I've never experienced a problem with any other game.

Nope, I'm not using 3D. Let's just say that having glasses tends to deter you from doing that...

Edit: I made a third .cia, and I haven't encountered any crashes in Patched Plains' first stage. So far, so good?

Edit 2: Nope, not so. The game crashed in the Extra Stage of Resolution Road.

Would that be a lot of games..? If I'm not mistaken, Robobot is an "extended memory mode" game and maybe the other ones you've tried lately are not?

Is there anything else unusual on these units? Did you do a region change or install NTR CFW or something? Were they hacked in accordance with http://3ds.guide , or did you follow someone's Youtube video? (Following videos is strongly discouraged.)

It is tempting to suggest running the safety test documented at the start of https://3ds.hacks.guide/uninstall-cfw and see if the problem is remedied that way, but that might be a little extreme. (Do not try to actually uninstall CFW!)

1. Yes, that would be a LOT of games. Over 20 on cartridge in my 3DS collection alone plus some eShop games. I have a feeling that there are probably waaaaay more that I've played, but I have no idea and I'm about to go somewhere irl.
[Edit: Though, on second thought, I don't think I've played all too many after setting up CFW on my 3DS. It's also an O3DS, too.]
2. I never did a region change, and I installed Luma, not NTR. Also, I followed http://3ds.guide, without a doubt. I wouldn't be comfortable following any other guide, and I've always hated video guides because they always felt super imprecise and unprofessional.
3. I'll definitely consider the safety test if I need it.

I could test the game (think I have it), but I don't really understand where it crashes on you. first transition pipe? doesn't kirby usually go into doors or hop on stars?

Actually, in the very first stage of the game, before Kirby even enters a door or hops onto a Warp Star, there's a pipe that takes you from one room to another. That's the pipe that the game crashed on.

if you think it's a luma problem or something, I could post on their github, and I'll link them to this thread (did this for someone else, and they were quick to respond). don't know what the problem could be on your end.
