ohai I would like to make another boot option for hekate where it boots to sysNAND *WITH* CFW so I can play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online with MKT costume and music mods without going to the emuMMC folder and then renaming the emummc file. (I know, I'm taking the risk.)

How do I layout the hekate_ipl.ini to achieve that?
[config]
autoboot=0
autoboot_list=0
bootwait=3
backlight=100
autohosoff=0
autonogc=1
updater2p=0
bootprotect=0

[OFW sysNAND]
fss0=atmosphere/package3
stock=1
emummc_force_disable=1
icon=bootloader/res/icon_switch.bmp

[CFW sysNAND]
fss0=atmosphere/fusee.bin
emummc_force_disable=1
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp

[CFW emuNAND]
payload=bootloader/payloads/fusee.bin
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp

first and foremost, please for the love of all things holy a) do not use exfat and b) do not use youtube guides.

1) you require sigpatches
2) the fat32 sd card is recommended
3) Tinfoil supports usb and network install which are recommended.
Sorry but,try to transfer a file larger than 4gb with fat32 also on a PC and see if you can and then you know how much the youtube videos have helped me on things that i asked here and they have not been able to answer me and give me some help?
This seems to me just a pretext to make users stay noobs for life,always depend on others and prevent them from learning how to solve problems on their own.👋

Hi guys
I have a hacked switch with emunand on the micro SD card using Atmosphere CFW. I want to upgrade from my 128GB to a new 512gb. However, I don't want to transfer anything from the old SD card( games, apps etc..). What are the steps of going about starting fresh with a new card on an already hacked switch?

I recommend you to reread the rules.
  • Members may NOT ASK and MAY NOT PROVIDE INFORMATION or LINKS for and to places that provide ROM, WAD, ISO and CIA files in absolutely any way on our forum including PM (private message).

  1. No but newer games will require higher firmware versions than SX OS supports so eventually you will have to use Atmosphere
  2. Atmosphere is the best CFW currently available
  3. That cannot be fixed because its a hardware issue. If users do not properly turn off their consoles, of course the consoles will drain battery. As long as you properly turn off the console, the battery will never drain, AutoRCM or otherwise

Maybe try sending a payload that doesn't require interacting with the screen such as fusee.bin to directly launch into Atmosphere.

I don't know how you are using JKSV in RCM but that is impossible. The whole point of RCM is to inject a payload. Also RCM mode is redundant. You don't say HIV virus, PIN number, etc.
I'm using RCM to inject a payload to then boot into CFW every time, but while I'm running the CFW I'm able to use JKSV to dump and restore files. I want to know if it's possible for me to use the CFW while also playing games that I own using online nintendo services, or do I need to turn off my switch after I'm done using JKSV and then turn my switch on again without injecting the payload and using CFW?

You are gonna have to be more specific on all the details. Type of Switch, Firmware, Hacked or Stock, SD card format type, and what Error code/ or a screen shot of what comes up when trying to start game?
Type of Switch: where can I see the exact type?

Switch 8.jpg

Firmware: I think it has Goldleaf installed, attached a picture of the content on the SD card
SD card content.png

Hacked or Stock: no clue
SD card format type: Samsung 128 EVO Plus
Error: see pictures

Most games have a ! or a cloud next to the title

Switch 1.jpgSwitch 2.jpg

When I click on a game with a ! it gives me a pop up saying that I need to to an update.
The message box is saying that the system update is prepared. I have the option to do the update, cancel or start the software.

Switch 3.jpg

When I choose the update, I get the message that there is damaged content.
I can choose cancel or control.

Switch 4.jpg

When I choose for control, I get the message that the content on the SD-card is damaged.

Switch 5.jpg

Only thing I can do here is OK.

Then I get the message that I can download the data again.

Switch 6.jpg

I haven't done this. Should I do it?

As you can see, I'm very new to this. So any help will be very much appreciated!!

As both he and I have been helping as tech support in the Switch scene since its inception, both exFAT and video guides have caused half if not more of all Switch-related problems so the advice is warranted. exFAT corrupts SD cards and video guides are always outdated the moment they are published as well as never made by any actual developers.

If you want to start fresh on a new SD card, then you don't have to do anything. Just put the CFW files on the new SD card and go from there.
I'm using RCM to inject a payload to then boot into CFW every time, but while I'm running the CFW I'm able to use JKSV to dump and restore files. There is always a risk of a ban when going online after using CFW and/or homebrew. It doesn't matter if you don't boot CFW; since you already booted CFW & homebrew, you risk getting banned if you try going online. That doesn't mean you can't go online but if you do decide to go online, don't be surprised if you end up getting banned one day whether its in a week, a month, or even a year.

I would say you have a lot of reading to do first!. Your Switch is fine and can be fixed. Please read through these tutorials first:

Hello everyone! So I took the plunge today and attempted to update my switch, I started by copying the latest atmosphere files over to the root of my micro SD and replaced all previous files. I then did the same with the Hekate files and updated my RCM loader. Before I was using the fusee-primary.bin to boot into CFW. Now I tried to put the fusee.bin in the boot loader and it will not boot. I only get an error. Can someone help me on completing my update please. My switch is currently on version 10.1.0, hence why I would like to update to 13.1. Thank you everyone!

sysNand is on 9.0
emuMMC is on 12.1
AMS 19.5
I want to update everything. What are the proper steps to do so?

Well its still worth exploring because otherwise, you're not going to be able to send a payload.

No, its better to use the homebrew application Daybreak to update the firmware of your emuMMC.

First, Atmosphere is never "installed" anywhere. At most, its technically 'installed' on your SD card but you have to send a payload in order to launch Atmosphere. Secondly, you risk getting banned if you go online after using any CFW or homebrew.

Going online with CFW & homebrew gets consoles banned.

CFW & homebrew leaves traces that Nintendo use to ban people.

The touch screen should work.

Pokemon BDSP should run just fine on firmware 11.0. Does the game not install/run?
Welp, I tried a new cable and it still won't download the drivers.

Instead of replacing the previous files, delete them instead then put the new files on the SD card.

Ideally, you would want to update your CFW first. Then you can update either sysMMC, emuMMC, or both since I'm not sure what you mean by "everything". If you use CFW/homebrew exclusively in emuMMC, you should use the homebrew application Daybreak to update the firmware. If you don't use CFW/homebrew on your sysMMC, you can update online but doing so will burn fuses preventing you from downgrading and potentially making use of a better exploit discovered in the distant future.
Welp, I tried a new cable and it still won't download the drivers.
Try the advice in this thread.

Hey @Draxzelex!

thanks for the help. I did as you asked and I still get the following errors. in the launch icon of hekate It says I have No main boot entries (check that bootloader/hekate_ipi.ino has boot entries

more configs says I have no .ini boot entries found. check that ini file exists in bootloader/ini/

and in payloads I use to use fusee-primary, but I was reading that it does not work on the latest version? I have uploaded the payload from hekate file to my RCM loader. Also, I initially tried updating using this guide and followed it in order https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/extras/updating/#updating-atmosphere. I don't know if I should of updated my OFW to 13.1 first? thanks for your help.

Hey Draxzelex
I know it's not always a popular comment, you can use that guide, BUT

A. Make sure you always apply newest SIGpatches from GBATEMP when done

B. As well, the advice to, "Start Fresh" from many of the Contributors here is a good one. You're not starting fresh from the aspect of loosing functionality [If done properly] (You're CFW / emuMMC partition is still there and intact), your just starting fresh with the SD card files required to to boot your already established CFW / emuMMC. So basically backup what you currently have on the regular root / boot partition of the SD card (the raw root files you see), And follow an updated, and working guide to recreate the, "newest" or upgraded scenario you want. You're basically starting clean with Atmosphere and Hakete, so that you are upgraded and that you have clean files that no other old files are interfering with. Once that is done, and it's Booting you're CFW / emuMMC, you will be, "Upgraded" and you can copy back nay non interfering software (homebrew related or otherwise) but have the data still from previous installs in your CFW / emuMMC. You can also, after that upgrade your emuMMC firmware with daylight if you wish to do so. That's how I would do it anyways. (There are multiple ways you can accomplish CFW firmware update with Daylight.)

I have an unhacked and hacked unbanned switch. I run my hacked switch on emunand with exosphere and 90dns and I’m planning to set it to incognito as well.

What I’m wanting to ask is if I setup atmosphere Sysnand on the hacked switch without any sigpatches and just exosphere and then log into my Nintendo account on Sysnand stock to pull my BD Pokémon save and over then switch to atmosphere to backup the save modify it return it using ams Sysnand and then return to stock and upload the save to download back to my unmodded switch I should be fine and not get banned right?

Basically the only time my hacked switch will connect to Nintendo will be when running full stock and when in Sysnand cfw I’ll be blocking connections.

Thanks

You dumb fgt, LAN =/= local wireless connection.

The switch creates its own WiFi network when using local wireless, that's why you get disconnected from the internet.

LAN has nothing to do with this.
considering you only joined today take this as friendly advice, we don't go for those kind of responses on this forum. this is a friendly community with well respected people who have been here for a lot longer than you and helped many, its not big or clever and your impressing no one.

How big can i make emummc Partition, because if i reach 29GB in Partition Section, it says "Full"?
Yep that's the right size for an emuMMC, your "Home-Brew" will be stored on whats left of the Card. Sorry one more clarification, You can store your, "Home-brew" on whats FREE on your emuMMC OR the space left on your SD card, outside of emuMMC. Hope that makes sense. It will soon, if it does not now ;)
