I know this is a dumb question, but how do you remove a villager's custom design they saved from your ables? I don't want to reset them completely, just remove their custom design data.

You will need Animal Crossing Save State Editor

Is there a way to load a new villager with NHSE the way the game does it, on the first day unpacking and cleaning

Having them in boxes to pick up yeah, to have them like the first day they arrive i havent checked, maybe if you kick someone, FF 1 day to have the "sold" marker on the plot and change that villager could work

Thanks for the quick response. this is what I did, i checked "moving out" waited for the system to kick him out, after the plot was empty, i follow the instructions on page 1, to load new villager. However when I load into my game, the new villager was just walking in the plaza like nothing happened

Did you check its flags, when the house was sold?

Im not sure about the flag name, check flags when new villager arrives and its "unpacking"
I just checked and saw a "MoveInCompletion", maybe thats the flag
