I see that you are looking at disabling the EXP share but have you given thought at also disabling the pokemon affection effects? frankly they are annoying and slow the battles.

There are cheats for this already so it can be done but having it as part of the mod would be nice.

Those are exefs changes, so I'll be utilizing a custom cheat file to change things like this since I have no disassembly experience (or making kip patches for that matter.) But yes, definitely disabling affection is going to be a suggested part of this mod.

There's a couple things I'd like to hammer out before submitting Pokemon changes. First, there was a couple mistakes in the file, and second, I'd like to put in moveset changes before I publish this. I hope you guys understand. You can hit me up if you want the file for just the Pokemon changes (with the couple mistakes) or wait a bit for me to publish this.

Thank you so much for doing wild Pokemon!

Now that you start doing trainers and the Pokémon moveset, I'd like to point out one thing: in Renegade Platinum, trainer Pokémon only know moves that are gen 1-4 so you MIGHT want to give some of them some gen 5-8 moves that suit them. This could be done in later releases as well.

I'm currently combing through and finding moves that are removed in BDSP that were in DPPt and finding moves that are similar.

Just wondering in general (I sadly won't be of any help for this kind of project) assuming that I don't own a switch + don't have any coding experience because of non existant education in the regard (Like I'm happy that I can turn my PC on and off basically lol) + only own the rom file for BDSP to play it on Yuzu Emulator.

How likely or possible is it for someone like me to find an tutorial on how to open & edit these files? Are there any easy to use tools that are capable of doing exactly that or is it basically required to know a pretty good amount of coding in general.

Amazing project - great progress that has been made already! I'll definitely wait for this before starting a playthrough of the game.

A couple of questions:
1. I'm guessing trainers that were in Platinum but not DP that pop up before the post-game (e.g. the Frontier Brains) aren't going to be possible to put in for quite some time and will just be skipped? Just thinking those with Zapdos and Sacred Fire Entei might be a fun challenge - but with you adding legendary boss battles they might not be needed anyway
2. Is the 1/512 shiny chance rate going to carry over into this project?

Wow I really wish I searched for something like this before I started ripping my hair out basically trying to do the same thing

I had spent some of my free time this weekend doing all the Pokemon (personal) changes to match Renegade Platinum, as well as the Evolution methods (two options, giving the item and levelling up in a time period)
I don’t however know if you can enable both Level up in day and night on the same pokemon .... I hadn’t tested that yet

However I gave up when I couldn’t for the life of me, find the Trainer Files to edit them... it was then I discovered Gamebana and this, and now I feel like an idiot

Great work on this ! Having so many people involved I’m sure will make this amazing

I can’t wait to see what else you can do !

As more knowledge of the scripts become available - I am sure this game will become what it should’ve been from day 1, with added platinum features

Activate Platinum outfit by default should be ok it's a mystery gift flag and can be toggled via cheat but it does switches your rival's starter to the one weak to you instead of strong against yours

So, just to temper some expectations here: what's happening right now are edits of tables and things that are already there. Full plot and new facilities are something else entirely that will need a bigger team/heavier editing/possibly entirely new 3D modeling work depending on the features asked for (like a working Distortion World). BDSP is probably the first main series game where this will be very, very viable but getting the access necessary and putting it to use will take more than a week or two of release time.

That said, if I'm wrong, I'd be so happy to hear it!!

I'd also like to request if something like EV-reducing berries and/or Mints in the 8 badges shop lineup or something is possible, to help make teams ready for the E4 without having to re-breed entire teams or whatnot. The weren't around when Renegade Platinum was a thing, but I figure they'd be a welcome addition. Similarly, if you're interested in turning off EXP share/affection, is it possible a side-version, "Lite" or something, could be included to keep them on? (Or down the road, maybe make them item toggles so you can turn them on for grinding but off for bosses or whatever.) I love games that are more difficult than "press A on Super Effective to win" but also I'm bad at these games. So. Just my two cents!
