This is probably on here somewhere, but the hdd died for the wii. It's been 8 or 9 yrs since it was modded so the only thing i really remember is letterbomb was used to mod it. I'm really just wondering where in what tutorial i should begin and get everything back onto the new hdd. this is what is on the sd card.

You just need a new HDD and get your games on it again using WiiBackup Manager (for Wii games). As it seem that you have your SD card with all the required apps for the Wii to work. You Wii console still works isn't it?

Download SysCheck HacksDen Edition from here (https://wii.guide/syscheck.html), follow the instructions from the provided link, you can run it using Homebrew Channel and provide us here with a report from it please (using CODE and SPOILER tags).

Also, please show us a screenshot of the apps folder contents on the SD card.

yeah, I had a wii/vwii hdd die once, but I had a backup of the drive, so I just copied and pasted the games back. I was using an enclosure, and I used the same enclosure for the new drive. no issues, even today on the vwii.

It won't let me reply directly to one person lol. Something about links. Anyway, when I pull up HBC there is only backsplash no menu. Here is app folder from sdcard.

Is the sd card formatted as fat32?

Presumably you have a boot.dol or boot.elf file saved inside each app's folder?

While inside the hbc hit 1 (or 2?) to get to the options menu and make sure sd card is selected. Not applicable if u don't also have a usb HDD plugged in simultaneously.

Edit: if you use Modmii's main wizard and tell it your console is a virgin, it will direct you on how to properly format your sd card as fat32. If you do this, there's no need to also do the syscheck wizard and usb-loader setup wizard, as the main wizard includes everything from those 2

Sorry for long response times, work 12hr days and sometimes when you get home you're just done. There was no boot file in the HBC folder. Due to that, went with Modmii main wizard as per xflak's advise. Worked like a charm. I don't know when you guys made it that easy but I feel like I should donate something to someone lol. Thank you.
