For Wii, I just use a 500GB SSD with a USB SATA cable. No power issues, no Y cable needed, no mechanical parts, and all the GOOD Wii games fit perfectly, with a few of my favorite Gamecube games as well. All my ISOs have been trimmed down to just the game partitions to save space.

Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe in the future. I setup the new HDD. Wii and GC work! however the emulators don't see it. Ideas?

Emulators don't see your drive ?
The partition table is MBR or GPT ?

I guess it's GPT if it's bigger than 2TB, and some old homebrew might not have been updated to support that partition table type :/

As for posting a list of games which requires neek, that's always nice to have users helping others and reporting issues, making list etc.
Though, you must understand how IOS and bases are working to be sure the game doesn't work with d2x in "full emuNAND" mode before affirming it only works with (s/u)neek(2o).
But if you have something you want to report, please let us know :)
We will compare with the wiki and our knowledge.

I think mbr has a limit of 2.2TBs to be exact, so that's usually the reason devices don't work above 2TB on a lot of different systems (not exactly fat32 itself).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I think gpt has a limit of 16TBs iirc. I don't know what comes after that one.

These utilities won't allow 4k clusters on that drive because it isn't neccesary. The entire 2TB (somewhat smaller) drive fits inside the MBR/2TB limits using 512b sectors.

So as far as the Wii goes is 512 sectors going to cause an issue? Also this should be the largest drive that is compatible with all applications because it's MBR? UNEEK and Emulators and everything?

I used older MyBooks 1TB & 2TB a long time ago and they always worked, but then again they came as MBR.

What 2TB WD drive are you using? Passport, Elements, Essential, MyBook? Had no idea that a modern WD 1TB or 2TB GPT drive would not work with the WD Quick formatter.

Have you tried EaseUS Partition Master: http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/epm-free.html?
You might have to have the paid version like I do, but the free version might also have it now these days. I know it had a 2TB limit because I tried to use it on my 5TB. Worth a try.

touching on this subject I use a 2TB WD Green (A recycled/refurbished line by WD themselves) for vWii on my Wii U+a sarget external powered 3.5" cradle and a 4TB (even though Wii U only supports 3TB) for wii U games
