Niantic's Pikmin Bloom mobile game is available in select regions, set to roll out worldwide "shortly"

A few months ago, we saw that Nintendo and Pokemon Go developer Niantic were working together again once more, this time, on a Pikmin mobile game. Information on the game was scarce, at least, until now, as the game--now titled Pikmin Bloom--is starting to launch worldwide. Currently available in Australia and Singapore, Pikmin Bloom is much like Pokemon Go, as it encourages players to go outside and walk around their neighborhood. In order for your Pikmin to grow, you'll need to hit a certain amount of steps, after which flowers will begin to bloom behind you in the game's AR mode. It appears to be less intensive than Pokemon Go, as you can leave the game idle as you walk. Other Pikmin can also join you along the way, and you'll be able to see the results of your daily journey in a journal. Pikmin Bloom is available on the App Store and Google Play Store, and will be launching worldwide "shortly".

Why do this with one of their less Popular game series? I mean if this tanks no actual games of the series will be released in ages.

hahahaha no, Thats just bullshit typically. Anyone with the APK and some sideloading knowhow in android can put this on their phone and play it anywhere sure enough. Same thing happened with Pokemon GO at the start and I doubt Niantic has gotten better planning their shit all the way through.

Anyone that really wants to try this now, just look up how to sideload apps and find an official APK floating around. Enjoy yourselves.

All I'm getting out of this thread is a reminder that Nintendo couldn't care less about F-Zero and it makes me sad.

This new Pikmin game doesn't sound TOO bad.

Right?! I can't wait for F-Zero GO, where you can race other players in augmented reality using just your smartphone, and a 4-wheel 3,000lb automobile.

Chances are depending on how they launched it they will probably have you either sign in/make an account for some reason and/or will not prompt you to do so. I have not actually played this yet but I have had enough history with Niantic's shit to know how they work when it comes to staged releases. With GO they tried to do the same thing but once it was made available via the APK everyone in the world was able to play it. (well, except for China, but that is an entirely different issue altogether.)

Unless they use some actual geo-restriction rules on how the app works and/or it works via some surefire way that can 100% confirm you are in those limited territories somehow bypassing all known methods to spoof location information. Chances are this is just being done intentionally to limited wide scale server stress as the soft launch is done to just test the load of the players on their servers before going wide scale in more countries. That was also an issue with GO when it was first released as well.

Except that, unlike the Switch, the mobile market is indeed flooded with low-quality money-munchers, has been for more than a decade now, and has a horrible reputation.
The only good game I've found is Bloons Tower Defense 5, on mobile.
BTD 5 is nowhere as good as countless other mobile games. And the switch is definitely flooded with money-grabbing, poor quality games XD

F-Zero GX was so good. I broke so many controllers trying to beat that game. I loved the difficulty of that game.

There was the GBA F-Zero games. But silence.

Glad I was never a Mother/Earthbound fan. They got shafted the most by Nintendo.
i disagree, mother series got 3 games plus smash bros representation since the first game

eternal darkness, geist only got one game each and no more love
nintendo doesnt like to be assossiated with mrated games i guess, so they only tryed this 2 ion the gc era where RE4 was extremely popular, i highly doubt we ever see a remaster or sequel of any of this 2 ips, not even smash representation tbh.
