I plan to buy this tomorrow probably, a couple days before my subscription ends. probably doesn't matter if you've hacked your switch. I'm assuming you can add any game you want, just don't know if all will work.

I decide to test out retroarch on a friends pc

They had it setup where it used the parallel rdp and rsp plug-ins( this gives 100 percent accurate emulation according to them)

But it requires a very powerfully system to pull it off.

But what I saw with the games was just pure magic.

I don’t think the switch is powerful enough to do 1:1 n64 emulation.

That’s why we are stuck with this HLE hot mess that Nintendo provided us with.

What a surprise… I didn’t think anyone was expecting 100% accuracy.
I don’t understand what people are complaining about really, the games are responsive and work well from start to finish. the sound is not crackling and you don’t need to overclock you system for it to work.

I’m pretty happy with the emulator Nintendo has provided so far. Just hope we can figure out how to inject our own roms :) I rather use it over Retroarch if possible

Eh? Don't set it to 1080p if that's your only problem. That's a fact that "Retroarch has far more advanced emulators". We are not only talking switch HOS RA, there's also lakka, android etc...
Yes it might be far more advanced, but that means it requires more power to run well.
and unfortunately it’s not performing great on the Switch, especially not with FBE enabled, which is a shame

I don't know the root of technical issues, but an example would be OoT specifically. There's something funky with fog and reflection rendering.
Does that hinder gameplay? You prefer crackles and slowdowns and broken menus or lower resolution? Because that’s more or less the options with retroarch. At least if you don’t overclock like crazy. Which Nintendo’s emulator doesn’t. It’s actually impressive how smoothly it runs in handheld mode with FBE and increased resolution.

Alright buddy. It's time to get off the high horse today.

All I said were factual evidences of inaccurate emulation. That post had no mention on any sort of opinion of the matter. In fact, I stated my opinion earlier in *this* thread.
Disappointed that the emulator seems kinda low accuracy, but if it lets me play N64 games fullspeed I won't complain too much

Enjoying the program isn't white knighting. Maybe you should get off YOUR high horse?

Enjoying your program isn't white knighting. Attacking multiple people who have valid criticism is. When one of those attacks is based on lies, that's not only white knighting, but idle arguing.

I just don’t understand why people are so disappointed and what people expected. Then I hear completely stupid comments like Retroarch is better because it’s more accurate.
well that would be true if the Switch was actually not sweating so hard when tuning in the accuracy settings.

also I heard that this is the same emulator found in Super Mario 3D all-stars.
No idea if this is true or not, but if it is then it should be capable of displaying fog better than what is seen in the new release. Interesting difference, maybe someone will figure out how to enable it.

face it man, people prefer playing games in full speed without hiccups over laggy accuracy.
but then there will always be those that complain that they can’t have both on an old handheld device. Boohoo
