Hello,

I've recently had an issue with my GBA SP (AGS-101) where it will shut off or restart during game play even if it's charging or if the battery is fully charged (battery indicator is solid green). After my GBA has done this many times I replaced the battery assuming that the battery was faulty (original battery was swelling a bit as well). The new battery seemed to fix the problem temporarily, but after four days the issue is apparent again. I've also noticed that after a certain period of time (about an hour) the battery indicator will flicker between red and green (not sure if this is related to the issue or not). Any suggestions as to how to fix this issue?

Check if the battery contacts are making a good connection. If that's not the issue, disassemble it and take out the motherboard, get 99% IPA into the power switch with a Q-Tip, and run it back and forth until it's dried. If you can't get 99%, then get the next highest concentration you can get (iirc in some parts of the world you might not be able to get 99%.)

Otherwise you could look at replacing the power switch entirely, or the motherboard if you can't solder. But cleaning is usually enough.
