So, eh... I having an issue installing the update for Metroid Dread using Awoo and NS-USBLoader so i figure its time to update my Switch firmware and Atmosphere. Updating always gives me anxiety. >.<

1) Currently I am on 12.1.0 and I wondering... How long has 13.0 been out? Is everything safe to update?

2) I recall there being a special branch of Checkpoint that was patched to work with 12.1.0 because the original author was MIA or something. Does anyone have a link to that page?

So, after I tried another guide, this time the rentry.org one, I'm getting this error "A fatal error occurred when running fusee. Package1 seems corrupt" instead of the "Wrong PKG1 Flashed! Erista pkg1 on Mariko!". I would appreciate if anyone can help me. Still stuck at SX Core switch lite 10.2.0

I updated from 12.1.0 to 13.0.0 using Daybreak that came in the latest package from SDSetup.com and the version of Atmosphere in the download was 1.1.1 so I downloaded the matching Sig patches from HERE but I cannot install any games.

Any insight into how to get things going again would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I am using the wrong Sig patches? Is there a more updated version of the patches here in the forums somewhere?

I also noticed that NS-USBLoader no longer has Tinfoil in the dropdown menu, it now has Awoo (which is what I am using).

Also, the latest release for the sig patches is for AMS 1.2.0 Pre-Release and the version of Atmosphere in the SDSetup download is 1.1.1 (I tried both sig patch versions 1.2.0 and 1.1.1 and neither seems to work).

There was a new CFW called "Breeze" in my SDSetup but it doesn't work. It says my version of Atmosphere is outdated (AMS 1.1.1).

Any idea what that's about? I guess to answer my question, it is NOT safe to update right now. -_-:

Greetings!

I currently tried to migrate SX OS (Switch lite mod-chip 10.2.0) to Atmosphere. By the looks of it I don't have emuNAND, in my SX Menu doesn't appear "EmuNAND" its only SX OS, anyway ... I followed a guide and everything worked, I deleted most files from my SD and only kept Nintendo, Switch, Retroarch and sxos folders. I boot into hekake, clicked on launch and then Atmosphere, everything I did was according to the video, and then I got this error "Wrong PKG1 Flashed! Erista pkg1 on Mariko!". This part when it mentions that I have Erista pkg1 on Mariko is what buggs me, can anyone help me ?
Well the error message is pretty self-explanatory; you have the PKG1 of an Erista Unit on your Mariko. I don't know if you ever used ChoiDujourNX on your console but that is one way this error occurs. Anyways, the only solution is to restore a BOOT0 (which contains PKG1) to your unit. Unfortunately that file is copyrighted because its part of the console so it cannot be shared or linked here. That being said, like pirated games, some people may have shared dumps of their Mariko BOOT0 or take requests to dump them somewhere on the Internet. Also make sure that the BOOT0 matches your current firmware as they are firmware-specific.
I got 2 questions. I have already my Supersmashbros game. I also have installed it on my Emummc . How can i dump my safegame from my Sysmmc and import it to my emummc. Cause i dont want to play the Storymode again to unlock all characters :D

Second question. I would like to use Cheats on Some games like Bravely Default 2 . Which applicationen and lists do i use ?
Thank you very much
You can use JKSV in sysMMC to dump the save file then run JSKV in emuMMC to restore it. As for cheats, you can consult this thread for further instructions.
Hello
So I have not been very updated with my hacked switch and the current modding community and honestly forgot some of the small details of when I hacked my switch.

I've just been happy with Retro Arch and other games and wasn't interested with newer games until warioware as well as metroid.

I wanted to update my switch to get them, after trying to install the update files with Daybreak my switch has loaded up at all giving me the error in the image.

I am on atmosphere and emunand. I would assume I was on FW 11.0.1 before hand and no idea about the atmosphere firmware. It's not too big of a deal if I messed up my Emunand as I can start another. But I would appreciate any help to fix it as I would like to keep my save files.
Did you update Atmosphere as well?
Is there a really easy to follow, user friendly and up to date guide for setting up Atmosphere?

Helping a friend set up his day one switch and the Bird one I used myself seems to have disappeared
This guide is the one I always recommend to users.

Yes, there is more updated thread with the patches which you can find here. And eyes, NS_USBLoader replaced the Tinfoil option with Awoo since Tinfoil hasn't been updated in several years.

So I'm going to update my firmware from 12.0 to 13.0.
Steps I'm going to do:
1) Updates Atmosphere
2) Update hekate??? Is this needed? Do we even use this anymore?
3) Update Sigpatches
4) Update Firmware through daybreak.
5) Update tinfoil???

-So yeah I'm not sure about step 2? Is this still a thing if we use fuseeprimary?
-Also how would I update tinfoil on my homescreen? Switch is strictly offline. So no clue how to update except for replacing files on SD card. But how to update the home menu app link? Or will this be automatic?

Well you would update Hekate if you use it to either directly launch Atmosphere or chainload fusee. But considering how useful Hekate is, there is absolutely no reason not to use it. It is the best tool in the Switch scene.

As for step 5, I don't use DZ so I'm not familiar with it whatsoever. I have always used TinWoo Installer and I also recommend everyone else use it as I've never run into any issues while using it.

Thank you very much for the answer! If I put hekate into my SD only to backup my eMMC (Using the tool), get the boot files, and use EmmcHaccGen to try to fix the files, would that work if I don't find any boot donors ? I'm referring to Sthetix guide. Then I would put the SXOS again into the SD card the restore it in the SXOS menu.

About the ChoiDujourNX I have no idea, I bought this switch with someone else, but that might be the case since I'm getting this error, inside the homebrew app the Choi is there, so I suppose it was used, I even verified when I installed the Hekate inside console info it is like this "10.0.0 - 10.2.0"

Currently my Switch version is 10.2.0 (There is no emuNAND folders, so I guess I don't have emuNAND as well), what I need is a boot0 of the same firmware then ? Asking again because inside the Hekate info was this 10.0.0 and my current firmware, that bugged me a bit lol

Yes, you would use Hekate to restore the BOOT0 file but I'm not sure if eMMCHacGen makes BOOT0 files for Mariko units.

There is no list of games that don't work with CFW because all games work. If you mean pirated games, then games with online components won't work because the fake ticket generated with CFW when you install these is not sufficient for online play; you need a legitimate ticket in order to play them online which can only be generated by purchasing said game. Technically the games will still launch but you'll get an error code when trying to use any online service with them.

That is how the exploit works; you send a payload when the console is in RCM. The payload itself does and can not install anything to the system. There are other ways of sending payloads that you might find more convenient though. You can have a modchip soldered inside that can send the payloads by itself or use an Android phone/dongle to send them externally on the go.
sorry, I meant a list of games that don’t work completely because of online requirements (i.e newer nba 2k games, www battlegrounds, apex, which is a free2play and fortnite, or even apps like hulu

Hi, so I'm new to Switch Modding and I have Atmosphere set up along with a few Super Smash Brothers. mods! I wanted to know; is there anything else I should set up / look into when it comes to modding to keep myself as safe as possible or low risk of any issues? I just have Smash Ultimate cosmetic mods, I have not updated to 13.1 yet as I know to not update until it's released for us to download from the Firmware website. What else is there to know? I played Smash Ultimate online with my awesome outfit mod and there seemed to be 0 issue, so I am sure I'll be fine on that front.

Ok so I read through updating hekate. And got one question:
hekate_ipl.ini

What am I supposed to do with this? I mainly inject fusee primary. So Not sure if I should keep my old "hekate_ipl.ini" or overwrite it with a new one?

I don't use emunand or anything.

Also is Tinfoil + Nut still the go to or do we use a new method?

mariko switch lite (sxlite)
emmc/sysnand probably fried
Can lauch hekate and atmosphere but EMMC init failed error when trying to launch OFW.
I'm not confident touching the hardware.
I have a emmc/sysnand backup.
Can I clone the emmc/sysnand backup on a sd card and use it as a sysnand replacement?
If so, how would you advise to proceed?

Thanks

Anyone know where I can get the 13.1.0 OFW? I usually get my OFW from Darthsternie's site but that's only updated up to 13.0.0. Also are there still problems using converted nsps? Eg having them become unplayable after updating? Thought I read this was a problem before but I haven't updated in a while.

Just a heads up, 13.1.0 just landed so a lot of the CFW's aren't updated for it yet.
