At 9:00 am Pokémon announced that they will be making a new Pokémon anime, except without Ash and Pikachu… the new series will follow the original stories of all 8 regions of the Pokémon games, the trailer shows Pokémon X and Y, Sun and Moon, and Sword and Shield, more are soon to come. Pokemon is about the only way my kid will watch anime despite my obsession with it. Not sure how he'll feel about it without Ash and Pikachu, but this could be a refreshing take.

Indeed, but I remember playing Red and Blue, and then watching the series, and was frustrated that it wasn’t like the games. Indeed, it will be a refreshing tale,

Looks like they are going back to the old anime style, That is good because the Sun and Moon Anime Style looks terrible

It only shows stuff from Gen 7&8, wondering how Kanto/Johto Pokemons would look.. the anime art-style looks good here like any other modern anime. And the Ash & Pikachu formula got stale 4 Gens ago, this is a nice change IMO.

Between Origins, Generations, and Twilight Wings, I tend to really prefer these more game-focused anime takes on the series. Little things like the Pokemon having actual growls and roars and not stating their species name over and over really helps the series become what I had always wanted the main anime to be when I was a kid. So I definitely welcome this, I wonder how much of this will we get. Will it be an ongoing thing or just another miniseries like those that I already mentioned here.

Gen 6 is definitely in this trailer too.

Yea, i'll be REALLY surprised if they start from the beginning, giving each Gen/location it's proper time telling its story from its respective game/s...
That's more of a reboot type of deal, but it's also the first time for the anime to follow the true stories of the games.

I don't think that they are gonna kill off Ash, this new anime might be just a special like the Pokemon Origins ova

That is a good note then. I would love to dive deeper into the games rather than to deal with the same thing over and over again. That is not a good note that i would love to have since the main series seems that it is repeating itself in to the way that we know it would work too.
