Hi,

My daughter dusted off her NSW console. It is running SXOS 3.1.0 on FW 11.0.0
She has 3 usd cards with the games she likes most (xci formats that she loves using because it is easy for her to move to the usd card).

Would it be possible to keep these running and get a new usd card running both SXOS and Atmosphere or whatever else is compatible to keep the SXOS system running on 11.0.0 and the other custom FW on 13.0.0 ?

If this is possible, how should I go about this ?

Thanks.

It is possible. Best thing to do is get a 512gb sd card. Create 2 emunands, 1 for sx one for atmosphere (and set up a partition for Android if you want it also

Yes you can! There are many options I explain a few on my tutorial for 2 hidden EmuNAND partitions. There are easy ways, like make one partition based and one file based. But that is prone to corruption. Here is a QUICK snip from another page I posted on.

You actually have a few options.. you could
  • Have 2 SD cards each with a EmuNAND. 1 on 11.0 for sxos and the other on current FW for Atmosphere. (This requires sd swaps putting wear and tear on the fragile sd slot. They do break)
  • Have 1 sd with a hidden partition EmuNAND and a file based Emunand (easy to set up. However, file based EmuNAND tend to corrupt. If it does you'll lose you saves.)
  • You could have 2 hidden partition EmuNAND on the same card. (this seems sane. I know a few who have this for a while with no issues. I wrote a tutorial to do this. It's linked here
  • You could keep one cfw on EmuNAND and one on sysnand.(this also can be problematic. (SXOS has some... iffy code. It leaves traces and does god knows what. I wouldn't trust it with your sysnand.)
  • Technically you can put an EmuNAND on your SysNAND. BAD BAD idea. But in the interest of complete information i am mentioning it since it does exist. Don't do it.
EmuNAND is great. While you're in EmuNAND your SysNAND is not.touched. If tragedy happens and you brick, you SysNAND is fine. EmuNANDS even function if you remove your SysNAND. When you change EmuNANDS you essentially have a whole new system.

IMHO your only good choices are 2 hidden EmuNAND on 1 card or separate SD with 1 emunand each. Though, as stated, swapping cards puts wear and tear on the FRAGILE sd slot.

I have 2 hidden partition emunand on the same sd

Hope that helps. Let me know what you want. I can help

And Android is to run a Switch build of android (switchroot, up to android Q now) turning your console in to a true android tablet. You can run Linux and a special (shitty lol) build of windows as well..

Only Hekate can create multiple emuMMC. An Android partition is what is says in the name; a partition for booting Android.

I prefer PC based programs.. Any partition manager and EmuTool or NxNANDmanager work well.
