I expected nothing, and I am really impressed by the approach they chosen for this remake, they kept everything about atmosphere and the feeling of the original 3D trilogy while adding what make it enjoyable for the current gen, well done R*, you didn't pushed it too hard by just modding GTA V for the original trilogy and actually made something that have complete sens, this is great :)

That's what I'm confused about with some of the disappointments. Almost everybody in the announcement thread had very low expectations and thought it would be just another mobile port. With the bar thought that low, I have no idea how expectations came out of nowhere to get disappointed.

Not a huge fan of how remasters look, tbh. Models and environment seem to be technically better, but also come off more plain when put together, as if a lot of artistic decisions from original games were lost in transition (especially the stellar lightwork and palette choices). Character models for GTA3/VC in particular look like someone slapped one of those "HD ultra graphics" mods on them without much consideration for visual consistency.

Not even on Steam? Not surprised, but still disappointed. Will it support more than 60FPS? Also, I'm glad it's not just another mobile port but I really do not care for how shiny everything is.

25.4 GB for the Switch digital version. Holy magikarp.

Really concerned the physical version could be a forced eshop download cart, with only a minimal amount of game data included.

I see many people already decide "it does not look good" when it is not even out... well my two cents is that Rockstar at least made an effort... on the other hand, there are companies that literally just make gamers buy the same title 3 times in 2 years or sell emulation for the price of real games. I just replayed VC and SA and I am now playing GTA3 on PS2 so I look forward to seeing what it will be and THEN I will express a judgment.

My expectations were really really really low. But, honestly, it looks pretty good. It's sad how we'll most likely have to mod the music back in though.

Where did he go?

Also, graphics remind me of this fan made trailer.

They should just hired the modders that made the viral videos of classic GTAs with modern graphics. Even if it was just assets , knowing the VFX would give them an idea on how to implement it in this. Also the 3d models should have at least better. I bet that they didn't changed the car damage and models like in the xbox exclusive version.

Seems to me if you want to get the full experience you have to play this on PS5/Series-X

It looks good when it goes on sale in the future I'll pick it up now they need to work on Porting over GTA IV and GTA V to the switch

Because some people are never satisfied...no matter what.
If a billionaire were to die (let's say Mark Zuckerburg because he's a jerk) and leave a random person he never met a million dollars...that person would likely complain that he didn't leave him more, while others would just be grateful they got anything.
