Is there any way for extract/dump Game Boy Advance (GBA) ROM files from .app files from Wii U VC titles?

I'm trying to extract the ROM of the American Wii U VC release of the game "Kuru Kuru Kururin" which i got from Wii U USB Helper, but the files of the VC release are given me as unpacked (as .app files).

And i don't know how i can take (extract) the rom of these app files for get my own GBA rom dump of that game.

Any help?

Later i will send you a screenshot for see what is the files structure of my GBA VC game i got.

Greetings ;)

.app is not unpacked, what you want is Loadiine format which Wii U USB Helper lets you extract, that contains code/content/meta folders with all the individual files and the ROM should be somewhere in there.

you can decompress the alldata.bin file with MArchiveBatchTool-win-x64 iirc. for instructions, look in the gba brightness tutorial (should be on front page, since it's new). not sure if the rom will be what you want or not as I didn't look for the rom itself.

Hi Saul

Does USB helper not give the option to unpack or pack? Sute I've done that in the past so you get the code, content and meta folders.
It does, yes.

How i can pack these files for make a single rpx or any other compatible file? I wanted to use wiiu-vc-extractor but it just works with rpx files :P

I'm not sure if usb helper can decrypt the game from that or not. the way I've done it is to have it decrypt the game after it's finished downloading. let me see if I can find the option.

rpx file is located in the code folderView attachment 280730
Don't worry, i now have these, i managed to extract the contents of these strange app files i got and then i got the code/content/meta folders and i got the rpx and other required files.

And, now, i also managed to extract the GBA ROM of it. I used this tool https://github.com/wheatevo/wiiu-vc-extractor and extracted my file alldata.psb.m (with alldata.bin file) with that command-line tool and i finally got my ROM of the American Kuru Kuru Kururin.

I could have followed this tutorial https://gbatemp.net/threads/remove-the-dark-filter-from-wii-u-gba-vc-titles.601290/ but it's too long, so i decided to do this instead.

Then, opened the rom with VBA-M and it loaded great:

Thanks to everyone :)

just rename it to .gba extension after decompressing the rom file with this command:

Thanks a lot for the help but i've already got it with another similar tool:

Okay, for those that don't know how i got the rpx file and the code/content/meta folders from the .app files of a GBA Wii U VC title downloaded from Wii U USB Helper Launcher, i've done this:

In "Downloaded" section of "Library" tab, right click in the game you downloaded, then click in "Unpack (Cemu)" and with this i got the required folders code/content/meta and the rpx file.

Thanks a lot to everyone!!! :D
