I'm using Thunderbird on my Desktop and k9mail on my phone to have a single place to handle all my emails as they come in, both work and personal. It's quite useful and far faster than the web versions to deal with or search through emails. It also allows me to make local backups of all important receipts, digital keys, upcoming contractual changes (TOS mostly but sometimes it's more useful information) and similar with a click of a button.
As someone that prefers to have their paper trail archived and a more convenient way to check all accounts in one place those clients are invaluable.

I have a bunch of email accounts (Outlook/Gmail/Migadu) and I like them in a single place, so I am using Evolution on desktop (GNOME's PIM Suite) and FairMail on Android. I tried out using ProtonMail as my main client but their Android app is kinda finicky and paying 8 dollars so I could have catch-all was unnecessarily expensive for me, so I just started migrating to Migadu and I am glad to have IMAP without a bridge again.

I don't like to mix work-life so I only check my work mail during work, and for that I use Outlook. It works alright-ish, all things considered. At my former workplace I had issues with it which required redoing profiles every now and then, but it seems they got it fixed sometime between Outlook 2007 and Outlook 365.

thunderbird or outlook depending for what it's used, and in what enviroment... bewcause i need it to be encrypted my way, and what i'll send needs to be only for that person to be read.
webmail is fine, but not secure enough for all tasks.

Back in the late '90s all the way to the early '10s I used Outlook Express.
Some years ago I swapped to Thunderbird.

Last year, my last POP e-mail provider died, so there was no point anymore in keeping a "thick" e-mail client.
95% of my accounts, professional and personal, are managed by Google anyway.

That said, Thunderbird is still installed, but I don't use it anymore.

Still using Sparrow on the Mac. Reason: Clean interface, no colorpop, no noise...

Even went as far as still having decreased gmail security on some of my accounts (one factor only f.e.) just to be able to use an older email client.).

I have a couple of personal emails and a couple for work, so I centralize everything in Thunderbird. It's way easier that way for me.

I have one thunderbird on Pc and one Spark on phone. There is one reason: I have to juggle multiple emails addresses. If I had one I would rather use web-version, as I tend to do when I can.

I am using the app of Yahoo. I downloaded it accidentally and gave it a try. I didn't even know that it is so comfortable to use email on an app on the desktop. The main problem is that you get every notification from every letter. It becomes problematic when you receive spam letters. It made me mad, and I had to do something with them. I started to use temporary emails for registering on websites. Since that moment, I haven't received any spam letters on my primary account because all spam letters are sent to an already deleted account.

I'm more likely to notice an email notification on my desktop than my phone, since decent push notifications seem to have gone by the wayside in favor of conserving battery life, which seems ridiculous to me. I'd also rather type on a real keyboard than with swipe input or voice-to-text, so desktop client it is.

Jup chinese Phone manufacturer started it. They dont allow the google message service to wake Android phones from deep sleep. Its intendet to do so btw.

Saves battery life in idle.

I see I am a little late to the party, but I use geary since I don't like opening a new tab every time I want to check my email, and it gets along well with google/ms logins. Also its included in Manjaro GNOME.

I use ThunderBird with POP3. I don't want to deal with slow webmail interfaces, especially if I need to reference an old message: it's already on my machine and accessible offline. I've had multiple e-mail providers die over the years, and I still have all the messages from them. I'm also immune to e-mail providers getting hacked and having all my messages deleted or address book harvested, since nothing is on the server. I prefer to be in control of my data, even if it means sacrificing convenience.

Nope. I just use the Gmail app in my phone, and view "All Inboxes". Does the same shit. Saves it offline too. Never saw the point of a software client on PC, when webmail is already a thing.

I use Thunderbird on my laptop. I have lots of email accounts set-up and while viewing them on my phone is possible, I prefer seeing them on a bigger screen, plus if I do have to type something, I have access to a physical keyboard, which I highly prefer over one displayed on the touch screen on my phone.
